  1. Definitely ask a moderator. @Kev sorted out my feedback threads for me last week 👍
  2. You know what, it may well be a JM4. I can’t really find much info on the old models. It’s the same pickups and preamp configuration as as TM4 but with a different body shape, so I just went with sticking to TM4. Think it was labelled as a TM4 in Guitar Guitar where I bought it (used). I did have a sneaking suspicion it might have a different name…
  3. I’ll be driving up to Durham tomorrow if anyone’s interested in the bass up that way?
  4. That’s a stunning looking bass. Good luck with the sale 😉
  5. Thanks Pascal. Enjoy the Mustang!
  6. Sold my trusty JMJ Mustang bass to Pascal @paznit this morning. Very easy to deal with and a lovely chap. Buy/sell with confidence folks! 😎
  7. Hey Tom. Welcome! I’m just up the road from you in Peckham. See you down the shops! 😉
  8. I bought one last week from here and it’s already proved itself really handy. Been using it all week in the studio and I’ve got a load of really useable tones from it. Really finishes off the signal chain nicely. Been recording a combination of the clean DI plus the line output straight into an amp. Sounds great. They come up all the time on here. I didn’t want the long wait and had a load of recording coming up so I pounced on the first one that came up and was local. Really glad I did.
  9. I’ve had a few EUBs over the years. My first was a Van Zalinge which was very natural to play but never quite hit the mark. I had to sell it to buy my main bass whilst at college sadly. I had a Warwick Triumph 5-string for many years which could get very close to Eberhard’s sound, but nowhere near a real upright. I now play a Yamaha SLB300 and its head and shoulders above any other EUB I’ve ever played in both feel and sound. It’s an absolute joy to play and can sound near as dammit the same as an acoustic upright. Bows beautifully too, which I found a lot of them really don’t. Can’t recommend it highly enough. I should add that I’m a massive Eberhard fan. Probably my biggest influence as a bassist. Total legend. I wish he was still playing as I only ever got to see him live once.
  10. Just bought a Jad Freer Capo from @Chadu25. Chad was very helpful and kind enough to meet me halfway at a train station. Really lovely guy and a pleasure to deal with. And the Capo is a fantastic piece of kit. It’s already on my board and getting used. Very pleased with it. Thanks Chad 👍
  11. I did once try to superglue a little chip back in place on my Precision and I must say, the results didn’t look great. It is still there 8 years later though…
  12. Ah great. I bought a medium scale Mullarkey. I love it!
  13. @Frank Blank Is the external depth of these really 4.7”? They look like one of the slimmer dual bass cases from what I can gather online…
  14. Which ones did you go for?
  15. I’ve not heard of these before but I’m quite into the addition of the wheels… 🤔
  16. @DDRDave! Fancy seeing you here! Hope you’re well mate. Loooong time no see… Looks like the RB bags are pretty easy to get now. Not sure I’ll ever be brave enough to stick a bass in the hold in a gigbag though. Big respect to you for going for it. Maybe one of these posh bags will convince me too. Have you carted about two basses a lot? What’s the weight like in the Mono?
  17. I know this is a really old thread but thought it was worth asking… Has anyone tried the Reunion Blues Continental Voyager dual bass bag? Any comparisons with the Mono M80 dual bag regarding relative weight, size etc? Not looking for an every day bag, but in certain situations where I need to lug two electrics plus an upright/small amp on the tube I’m after possible solutions. Two electric gigbags is usually enough to throw the balance off…
  18. Price drop bump… Now £1200 collected
  19. Selling my MXR M81 Bass Preamp. Lovely bit of kit but I used it very rarely; just for some home recording. It’s in excellent condition, good as new really. Has Velcro on the bottom and miraculously I still have the little stick on rubber feet if you like that sort of thing. No box but will be packed safely if you need it posting. Can be collected from Peckham SE15 or happy to post it (UK only) for £10
  20. As many have said here already you’d really need to go to visit either The Gallery or Bass Direct. They’re the only places where you can realistically try a wide variety of instruments at all price points; both new and used. Seeking out various branches of PMT or Guitar Guitar would not prove particularly fruitful as neither of those chains stock that many basses and would only cover and handful of brands. If it were me I’d be straight down to The Gallery. Even all the way from Leicester. It’d be well worth the extra time
  21. I’d agree with @bremen. Instant extra bite and you don’t have to butcher your bass. Plus you can easily swap back to the flats when you do have your favourite amp setup.
  22. Looks brilliant Si 👌
  23. Driving to Swindon later today if that helps anyone…
