I reckon it’s the fact that Ian Martin Allison from SBL has a beloved Antigua Jazz bass that’s pushed the prices up on these. Anything that gets featured on their videos instantly gets an instant price bump on the used market.

Definitely worth checking out the EBS Unichorus. Spent a long time searching for just the right chorus and that one was the favourite. Had mine for years now. There was one up for sale on here last week…

Intriguing if not very attractive headless fretless

Blimey. Looks like some kind of gardening tool… -

@Obrienp The V in Sandberg World refers to the precision-style split coil pickup. T being a jazz pickup and M being a Musicman style humbucker. Hence a VM has one split coil and one humbucker etc… That’s a lovely looking bass @grayn 👌

Is 8in combo really too small for decent practice

Me three! And I also use it for a little duo gig I do in Soho with my Yamaha EUB. Sits nicely on top on the upright piano and has plenty of volume to get over the chatter. Sounds lovely and full at lower volumes at home -
Sold a bass to Jamie @Veils today. Very possibly his old bass in fact! We met up at Euston station and had a great chat. Really lovely guy and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Jamie!

Good to hear you’ve been reunited! I must say there are a couple of basses I’ve sold over the last ten years that I’ve been sorely missing of late. Great that it’s still as good an instrument as you remember too 👍

Definitely ask a moderator. @Kev sorted out my feedback threads for me last week 👍

You know what, it may well be a JM4. I can’t really find much info on the old models. It’s the same pickups and preamp configuration as as TM4 but with a different body shape, so I just went with sticking to TM4. Think it was labelled as a TM4 in Guitar Guitar where I bought it (used). I did have a sneaking suspicion it might have a different name… -

Hey Tom. Welcome! I’m just up the road from you in Peckham. See you down the shops! 😉

I bought one last week from here and it’s already proved itself really handy. Been using it all week in the studio and I’ve got a load of really useable tones from it. Really finishes off the signal chain nicely. Been recording a combination of the clean DI plus the line output straight into an amp. Sounds great. They come up all the time on here. I didn’t want the long wait and had a load of recording coming up so I pounced on the first one that came up and was local. Really glad I did.

I’ve had a few EUBs over the years. My first was a Van Zalinge which was very natural to play but never quite hit the mark. I had to sell it to buy my main bass whilst at college sadly. I had a Warwick Triumph 5-string for many years which could get very close to Eberhard’s sound, but nowhere near a real upright. I now play a Yamaha SLB300 and its head and shoulders above any other EUB I’ve ever played in both feel and sound. It’s an absolute joy to play and can sound near as dammit the same as an acoustic upright. Bows beautifully too, which I found a lot of them really don’t. Can’t recommend it highly enough. I should add that I’m a massive Eberhard fan. Probably my biggest influence as a bassist. Total legend. I wish he was still playing as I only ever got to see him live once.

Just bought a Jad Freer Capo from @Chadu25. Chad was very helpful and kind enough to meet me halfway at a train station. Really lovely guy and a pleasure to deal with. And the Capo is a fantastic piece of kit. It’s already on my board and getting used. Very pleased with it. Thanks Chad 👍

I did once try to superglue a little chip back in place on my Precision and I must say, the results didn’t look great. It is still there 8 years later though…

@Frank Blank Is the external depth of these really 4.7”? They look like one of the slimmer dual bass cases from what I can gather online…
