1. Just got some new flats from Lakland with purple silks. The Lakland JO flats that are currently on my bass have black silks ? Have they changed ?
2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
3. I have been given one of these. http://tascam.com/product/us-1641/ What can I use it for in a live situation ??
4.
Incidentally, has Fender stopped producing 45-105 flats? I can't find them anywhere.
I was wondering why strings direct haven't had them for a while. That would be a bummer
5. It does look good, reminds me a little of a old Fender Twin.
6. Thanks, I still have a soft spot for a SP212. matching heads and cabs look cool!
7. What's the tone like on the OBT500 with a BF Compact ? I really don't know what I want, but I fancy a change from My MiBass set up.
8. hubbah - I'd love an SRV strat but being unable to play guitar stops me.
9. lol - Just about everything apart from G&K and Ashdown suggested so far
10.
That looks really nice. I used to work in Otley. Strange, strange place.
Oi! I live in Otley!
11. The Roadworn P's are red or 2tsb. Has that had a refin ?
12. Fender Flats 45-105 on the Jazz Lakland flats (light) to go on the P (not yet on, going to get it set up at the same time)
13. Do you guys use different gauges for Jazz and Precision basses ? I have a Jazz with 45-105 flats on and just about to put a light set of flats on my Precision. For some reason I have a bad feeling. The Precision feels like a much more solid bass that would benefit from chunkier strings? Or would the lighter gauge strings make the precision feel less workman like ? Or am I talking utter gash
14. I have a couple of mid 90's gibsons (335 and hummingbird) left in the sun and athough treated with car they arn't babied. No issues with fading, cecking or any other Fender nitro caricteristics. Maybe they are poly finishes, if so then ignore me #notalotofhelp
15.
I may be unique in this but I almost never want to pick up a new Fender and play it. There's just something about a new, pristine Fender that I find incredibly un-tactile, if there's such a term. The newer ones with pale necks are even worse. Whereas a Roadworn I immediately want to pick up; it's not a conscious thing at all. They're just warmer, friendlier somehow, if that makes any sense (I'm sure it doesn't!). I guess I'm into warm & comforting.
I get that. Poly finish seam to seal in the soul lol this is getting deep!

17. The fitting must play a very important role. If I'm going to spend that much I want to find some where good
18.
But each to his own, they look great, except that the decals are always pristine.
The Road Worn decals aren't
19.
This year will see the body stripped and a nice black nitro finish applied that will be allowed to wear naturally with use.
I'd love to do this and add a funky 60's custom colour...any advice as to how? My default position is "pay a man" how expensive would it be just to repaint a body? I understand the stripping is fairly striaghtforward.
20. Options are limited for buying nitro finished basses and the Road Worns tick this box. My other option was an AVRI but they are a LOT more money. For some reason poly finishes feel synthetic and nitro feels more organic to me. strange I know
21.
Specsavers also do this now.
After getting a woefully wrong eye test from Spoecsavers I wouldn't trust them to fit me for socks never mind hearing protection!
22. I love my Road Worn - it playes really well and the neck is lovely. I do sometimes think about stripping the finish and refinishing in a nice custom colour nitro
