  3. For sale is John East J-retro preamp. Gives lots of great tonal options. This one is a solder version instructions supplied. it also has the mix of black and silver control knobs usually associated with the DJ-retro styling. So a bit unique. looks fab. £140 posted within UK
  4. Boss LS-2 Line selector with box and instructions in used condition. £60 posted within UK
  5. Feedback for Hellzero Purchased a looper, sent in double quick time! Great communication!
  6. If I remember rightly this is just a grub screw, should be able to pick one up at an engineer/tool merchants.
  7. Jumping in on this one and no doubt it’s been covered. This thing is a lot of lolly. I’ve been around in circles with analogue and digital effects pedals/units. Found the zoom b3n to be pretty good but just not quite there, settled for a tech 21 bass fly rig at the moment as it just sounds organic. Is the helix another compromise? Sounds good and has bags of features but still sounds digital? cheers
  8. So something like this? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F281730041346 are Cts pots much of a muchness? Or should I be looking for specific brands? cheers
  9. I’ll bring this one back to the surface. See if anyone had any thoughts or experience since 2012! i recently purchased a Jazz with this upgrade it sounded great, although it did have some Nordstrands in too. Always been an active man, but the passive tone on this has got me thinking.
  10. Hi, so to confirm this is a post for 2 different sets or for a pair containing one of each type?
  11. I wasn’t thinking that myself, perhaps the whole neck needs rising. Veneer, do you mean this kind of thing? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F253249344214
  12. Hi, i have a Fender MIM 70’s re-issue with block inlays. its got a Hipshot Bridge and it’s set at its lowest possible point before becoming redundant! The neck I’ve pretty muched maxed out on truss rod. It plays and sounds great, however the action is not as low as some of my other jazzes. So, cut to the chase. I’m thinking a shim at butt of the neck would reduce the action. Looking up on the web, there seems to be a lot of opinion on what materials to use etc. Business cards, must be wood for resonance! Etc. I did find an article where the bass in question had what looked to be a Fender installed branded plastic shim. Intrigued to hear peoples thoughts and advice. To be honest I was just going to whack half a business card in there. Are there any pre-made options available in the UK? Cheers Tony
  13. Love mine. Have 2. I don’t have a Mark Bass cab but just used some pedal board Velcro on two sides of cab. Saves carting two guitar stands and keeps everything compact on stage. Highly recommended.

  16. Yeah, just been looking at looks a dead spit http://www.bassstringsonline.com/Hipshot-4-String-A-Style-Bass-Bridge--Brass_p_3122.html
  17. Hi, Been looking at a bass recently and it’s advertised as having a Badass Bridge. Now I’ve had a couple of Badass II’s over the years but this thing looks nothing like what I know as “Badass”. the owner is saying it’s defo is and receipts to prove it. If it is it’s a model I’ve never seen before. for the record the bass is a Fender Mexican 70’s reissue. So perhaps it’s a custom design?
  18. Now in a position to compare both. So going to do some like for likes. I do like the fly rig, but tweaking mid set in a live situation is a faff. I can get some great Envelope tones, but the octaver is pretty useless, again trying to quickly dial something in is a faff. I think the ideal may be a VT bass deluxe and zoom for the effects. Although going to persist with fly for a bit longer. There is definitely something tonally there in terms of Sansamp that the zoom although good just doesn’t quite hit the spot of the real thing. Could be the digital v analogue processing. Will update.
