6. Guess its too dear or everyones skint like me, ebay commeth soon..........
7. I have a rather special one for sale on this very forum, and its within ur budget, if u want a Jazz neck this has the slimest you will find. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10792
8. ooo the Satin one has a super bound neck like ebs_freaks.
9. I played that one too but Bernie had fitted some other eq as a test comparrison or something, It sounded fine but the GB eq was head and shoulders better and more powerfull, some of the db ratings on these are a tad scary and the output is staggering, better look after my preamp stage I reckon or I'll fry it! I like single coils, but I need such a quiet output for my purposes the GB pups were super silent over the Jazz ones.. I also went for the glossy one cause I like polishing it! But the third triplet is there for the taking, I didnt ask the price on that one!
10. Its a four, played it today, satin finish with a fabulous bound neck. Several few quid tho!
11. Having handed over copious amounts of dosh to Mr Goodfellow, I need to repay the old CC and have for sale my beloved Lakland Dudepit Limited Edition 1 For Sale. For those not in the know this small batch of only 24 worldwide were commissioned by the Dudepit website directly with Lakland, with specs not normally associated with Skyline models. IE: Factory installed East J retro active eq, Sherwood green finish and matching headstock. Freshly set up and fret dressed today by Bernie Goodfellow, and complete with heavy duty Lakland Gigbag. These are rare on these shores, and Im looking for 795 GBP, shes in great overall condition, has no dinks thru the finish, just very light surface scratches, there is a half inch scratch midway on the back of the neck but its worn in and smooth. Schaller straplocks included. Superb bass, with some real rarity and kudos. Shipping is included. The colour is quite dark really but varies in different lights, single coil barts and the east eq allow most tones to be dialed up, passive mode available by switch as is an extra bright setting on the pull up treble control, mids are controlled by a parametric sweepable control all on there own. Added some more pics, just thought id mention the neck on this is hugely slim, 1.5 at the nut and super skinny front to back, Bernie couldnt believe how slim it was. NOW £695 shipped. Needing New Lightweight Cab.
12. Yep, hook, line and sinker. Its early days for me, and time will tell, had a slap around tonight and shes like a harmonic bell, bright and clear, but with some dial in angst if u want it, I think ebs-freak summed it up "a jazz on steroids"....gonna go and polish her now, always my favourite bit with a new bass. Let us all know if u order one, perhaps a build diary would be good, mine obviously wasnt custom built for me and hence i guess I may have got a bargain, but whatever, im gonna enjoy every minute. NB: 1 very nice Lakland DPLE1 for sale freshly set up and fret dressed by Bernie Goodfellow!
13. I have her! Yippee, what a great day out, as ebs-freak pointed out Bernie can talk for england about his basses. Played thru the ebs rig it sounds stunning cant wait to try her out on Sunday. Ill get some proper pics up next week. All the result of an off the cuff call to Bernie as to what he had in stock, er " I dont carry stock I build to order, but I do have a bass that I made for a show about a year ago, shall I send u some pictures. The rest is history. Thunderthumbs did u have a go on her?
14. Oerr if only i wasnt giving all my dosh to Mr Goodfellow!, perhaps i could justify both? me thinks not, Shes a beauty....
15. New Year Resolution....... Leave other peoples listings alone, if you dont like em, dont comment on them except by pm to the seller. Commenting for all to see is just plain rude IMHO, and serves no purpose unless the seller is plainly trying to mislead people, and this is clearly not the case on this occasion, thebeeps from my experience is a top bloke and I nearly bought this myself with his help before it even reached these pages. Rant over! Good Luck With the Sale.
16. Hope to collect on Friday, its about an 8hour round trip, but cant wait, now the weather looks crap! Snow! Bollocks. Heart rate increasing, Sweaty brow, Damp patch, Anticipation, Is this GAS or another common affliction of the nearly 50's, nb:reaches for blue pill!
17. I havent tried a Rumour, but prefer the more traditional shape of the Spitfire at the moment, perhaps next time, same electronics arnt they?
18.
The more I play this bass, the more I love it you know. Anybody who wants a jazz influenced bass on steroids knows where to go and tell the good man I sent you!
Exactly my requirements and reason for pawning in the wife and cats!
19. Hope I get a chance to play a Rumour when I pick up my new Spitfire next week, looks superb.
20. Here are the two sister basses from the same piece of wood, the 5 string is ebs_freaks (hope he wont mind me using his pic) and the other 4 string is a satin finish to make up the triplets.......... This unusually has Jazz pups which ive never seen on a GB before. Cant wait for mine now!
21.
Nice thought but we all know the truth, eh? Tasty looking bass though. Said it before, but it's funny how we start off with Fender copies and crave the real thing, then buy the real thing and end up craving more expensive copies...
I think im on the top curve of that endless circle, but its fun and exciting, and what else would we rather do with money? Super bass btw.
22. Ha! Sorry still got a copy of that! I see your point tho, I hope there are some instructions and a lead to plug it into the mains....
