1. I'm not at all comfortable with the Pbass neck dimensions and much prefer the 1.5 Jazz neck measurement, so am wanting to swap my 1975 Precision for a Jazz style / sadowsky or whatever. Must have 1.5 nut measurement. Details: 1975 Precion bass with immaculate and I mean immaculate Maple neck, barely a mark safe for some normal wear on the lower side of the neck on the g string side on the edge of the neck, the usual place, from years of use. Serial number is 644832. Non original bits are the knobs and the bridge everything else dates from 75, pups are stamped and the pots and pic guard are all from 74/75. 1 bad bit is that it was once active and there is a small 9v battery size rout under the guard, very neat and only the size of the battery. There are also 2 screw holes where a thumb rest was at some time placed on the lower register, there are no extra holes though in the present pic guard. Wonderful body grain that follows the contour of the pic guard almost exactly, that always gets comments oddly! There are normal wear marks on the upper edge and some belt rash to the rear. Nice skunk stripe, no lifting, neck is superb, sound is what you would expect, although the tone control to my aged ear seems to not make too much difference, shes loud and thumpy as it should be. Some Pics:

3. good call Crazy, now theres a thought! a BC1 Shuker limited edition.
4. As a Lakand fan and indeed a Dudepit fan I am upset that the DPLE111 seems to have hit some snags, I thought about fronting up for one of these as i have a dple1 and just wondered if anyone had any further info?
5. WE all get older and come back to Ps in the end...........nice one. I Love my 75 but still like a Jazz neck so hankering for a 70s p with a Jazz neck, i know there are some about somewhere
6. ye it may be a maple/rw thing perhaps someone could clear this up?
I think the maple fingerboards do. I've seen loads of Rosewood boarded 70's Fenders without the stripe. Maybe it was a case of using up old stock
7. is this not the same one that sold for a fortune in the US lately? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1965-Fender-Precisio...1QQcmdZViewItem
8. Love the pb, dont mid 70s pbs have a skunk stripe normally?
9. Nice, and welcome to the club. Join my Lakland Facebook site thats just getting off the ground at last.
10. My 1975........SB is the classic Fender colour IMHO...
11. I have a 75 PB maple fretted but i c u have one of those, me thinks a thinner jazz neck might suit me better
Hello Hiperi0n! Ta for your offer... lovely bass, but not quite what I'm after (whatever that may be!). Good luck with the sale.
12. How expensive is expensive compared to dare i say mainline basses?
13. Some very good points made and noted, I suppose it has some bearing on what budget is available and what you can expect for the money as it were, if Yammys punch above their weight all well and good, but the ones I tried were with a tad mass produced sort of feel, i know they all are but u get my drift.
14. Loads of u guys use Yammys, Ive tried a few in shops and been totaly underwhelmed, by the sound, and presence let alone the lack of mystique of say a Fender and indeed any future residual value. Please put me right.
15. That cuts the can i pay on collection pms i guess http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WAL-CUSTOM-BASS_W0QQ...1QQcmdZViewItem
16. That looks a lot of bass for the money, not sure how much ther r new, but active, strung thru, nice finish, bet it wouldnt look half as sexy in a solid colour.....
17. Cause hes a guitarist and they all polish there knobs every night! Even my Mrs says she wouldnt give it a second look, but obviously shes just a girl! But us boys know better.
Why the hell would he say it looks crap! thats a lovely looking bass.
18. Yeah it took me a while and several thousand pounds on exotic basses only to come to the same conclusion, that you cant beat a damn good PBass.
Lovely bass! After all these years I'm finally coming around to the charms of a simple 70's Fender P or J....
19. As you know Ive been longing for an early 70s Pbass for a while now, and kulled one a month or so back. Shes a 75 body and neck and all that was missing were some knobs and the pup and guard and pup and bridge covers (winging there way from the states as i speak) Knobs were missing so sorted that, pup was not original so sourced an original 1975 pup and pic guard and controls complete from the states and she is re born, if not as born, at least from the right era. She has some wear to the usual places and some varnish checking to the rear. The grain of the wood actually follows the contours of the pic guard which is cool, and above all she sounds fab and vintage, or as the guitarist in the band said on Sunday. "it looks like crap but sounds as it says on the tin" complement indeed. Andy
20. Super bass, wrong section, more pics please.I like the SB one better imho
21. I believe i have made my humble apologies and reasons b4 to u and I apologise again, any way nows ur chance to get it back. Funny how things come round
Yes Andy, and mine before. As you may remember, I asked when I sold it to you for first refual if you sold it again, which you agreed to, but you promptly sold it on about a week later. Nice one. Chris
