1. Well new 21012 arriving tomorrow so hoping to tighten up my sound from the 2x15"MB ive been using. Gig on Sunday, Shaun says be sensible with the speakers and let the cones loosen up! not really sure what he means other than dont run em at full tilt!
2.
Im the dilemna now of half just going for the 4ohm 1212L.....its in stock. Perhaps the 8ohm version would be better! ARGHHGHGHGHGGH
I ummed and arrd, I use an LM11 and like loads of headroom and just thought at the end of the day the 2x10 combined with the 12 gave me the best of both worlds and at 1000watts is a 1 cab solution. I thought a 1212 might be 2 muddy and not a great improvement in clarity and punch from my 2 15" Markbasses, and the 410 might be just too middy. Time will tell
3.
The gulp, I bet, is part excitement! Are they much more than the 1212L? Cheers
Part excitement and the shock of parting with 750 notes.................
4. Took the plunge and just ordered a 21012L from Shaun, gulp, hope it lives up to the hype!
5. I'm seriously considering ordering a A Schroeder cab as i cant seem to find a tech one that fits my needs, considering the 4x10 or the 21012 light, anyone got any experience, I like to have loads of headroom as i hate working a cab too hard as my GB puts out a huge amount of bottem end, using and LM11. Is SHX the place to buy? I see WOT's custom 4x10 is still for sale is that cause of the customness or that the 4x10s are harder to sell on? Comments.....
6.
Is it me or is this way over priced ? You could probably get a secondhand SA450 for say £500 ??... and the 6x10 maybe another £600. Cracking amp though, the only thing I'd get rid of mine for would be a SD800 or SD1200.
mmmmm just a tad me thinks pmd politely
7. Oh my! That's almost too pretty to play......
8. I daren't sell anything on here anymore, i'm scared!
9. Ive toyed with a Sadowsky, but I have to say nothing ive played comes any where near the sound of my Spitfire.
10. Never quite liked OW's but thats lovely, it will be gone within the hour!
11.
Quite expensive enough for my tastes, mate. All you need now is a nice Status to go with that pair
OTPJ you are right, I need something Status, what do you have in mind?
12. Has anyone got a Tech cab for sale?, tried to buy Kalims 4x10 but he's unwilling to ship.
13.
Ah... the cardboard cut out seems to have worked a treat...
no nope, its real!
14.
Have you checked in the case recently...? So what's that pic then? Your GB and your "beater" bass for the dangerous gigs??
Exactly! An Rv4 with a few dinks, to take to the less desirable gigs we've all been to, but still has a little kudos! bugger I went and checked in the case aswell, spooky! alls well!
15. Me trying to look cool infront of what can only be described as a wardrobe!
16.
Yes I think you are right - it seems to be whatever Bernie builds goes to Staffordshire (eventually) apart from mine of course!
There's still one in Suffolk! Don,t know of any others close by, mind we are a bit slow around here, but thats how we like it.
17. I'd have this but its no shipping
18.
Quite expensive enough for my tastes, mate. All you need now is a nice Status to go with that pair
No Graphite in this stable tho I do have a Status Graphite T Shirt, and once owned a KingBass 5, whatever happened to the proposed GB T's
19. Well expensive in my book!........ You alll know what they are, but pictured together at last, Ahhh.........
20. OTPJ you need a sit down! this is like me parting with my Spitfire!
21.
Well I'm in. So far Well Impressed! First lightweight that has really satisfied me tone wise and sounds like a bigger, heavier amp! Sounds great through the Epi and the BagEnd115/AggieDB112. Great deal and service through BassMerchant. Some Pics..........
Has Darren at BM got Tec stuff in now then?
22. I had a PJ Sadowsky mongrel, and I agree with Beedster, they are wonderful basses and do the P & J thing superbly, Ive recently aquired an RV4, and being more of a Jazz man, this is even better, compared to my GB its nearly as lively, but its "Just there" if u know what I mean, great range of tones, and as thick as I like, dont get me wrong I love the GB and would be loathed to part with her, but shes in the case atm! Only thing with the Saddy that ive taken a while to get used to is the very flat profile fingureboard, it might be just me but the GB has a more rounded profile. The RV has a few dings and is from 2002 so will do all the pub and shabby gigs IUKWIM and the GB for the weddings!.
23.
Btw, lovely looking Sadowsky, Andy!
mmm it has taken over from my GB atm! sorry ebs etc etc.....and Im getting the vibe that white basses have the best stage presence.
