  1. Oooh....this Anagram looks to be a very interesting new toy....er I mean specific tool I need to find out more about. 🤣 The basic information I can find eludes to it being a very flexible and powerful pedal with many, many IR / amp / mic / effects. However I cannot seem to find a full list of what effects / IR / amps etc. it has onboard or what can be uploaded onto it from the Darkglass suite. Anybody know where this info is? I downloaded the "Darkglass Suite for Windows (5.5.8) - Anagram Support" to see if it gave any info. Once installed it asks to plug in my Darkglass product (which I dont own) or select from the dropdown Simulator options....which doesn't contain anything about the Anagram. I'm a bit reluctant to splash out a lot of dosh on a piece of equipment that I'm not sure what it can actually do for me. Anyone got any idea?
  2. Just sold Graham my Cort Elrick NJS5. The deal and messaging all went well along with swift payment. Thank you. Now just waiting for the couriers to do their part 🤞
  3. Yes, it's sat here just waiting for you 😉👍
  4. I've always highly rated Micks voice and band and have seen them several times. Never been dissapointed with their live sound either, even in places where other bands have sucked! Great early video of them. 👍
  5. Mmmm.....maybe theres a connection here 🤣 I've mentioned in previous posts / threads about this type of event and the way they drip feed the customer base with info about the event. We are a very niche hobby group spread out in all corners of the UK. Not everyone lives in London / Birmingham / Liverpool etc. and even if you do you still have to plan ahead and budget for albeit lower travelling / food / beer costs. Anywhere outside of these areas can be a significant outlay and all based on a notion that "something might happen". I'm glad I didn't commit to going as I would now be £500 out of pocket for transport & hotel, not a happy bunny and very unlikely I would consider going to another one if its run the same way. 😢
  6. Bought a Babicz bridge from Andrew. Bought, paid, wrapped, shipped and delivered to the other end of the country all within 24hrs! Easy deal, many thanks.
  7. That's a nice, clean example you have there. Looking good for 20 years play 👍 Have fun with it.
  8. Great news @TheGhostofJaco however 🤣🤣 We need to see this shiny clean new addition to the family.
  9. Hi, whereabouts in Scotland are you? Do you have any hi-re photos as the ones posted are a bit small? Thanks.
  10. That's a bit cruel, how would they go to school? 🤣
  11. Why not add the top hats and pole to your existing setup if you already like the sound? Drill a ~40mm hole in the top of the lower cab and fit one of these (sealed with silicon). Do the same to the bottom of the upper cab and add a pole between them. I'd probably have the heavier combo on the bottom for stability but that depends on the spec of cabs you have. ......PS: just noticed you've already mentioned this solution.....doh!
  12. I've been looking at amp / speaker / hpf specs etc and have come up with a bit of a "theory" on this. I used to own a Puma 900 and it was a great amp and from what I can see the Eich is a slighly improved / re-badged version so I'll bass (😉) my thoughts on this. As we know, the idea of a high pass filter (HPF) is to reduce the low frequency part of the signal so that the sound is cleared up, speakers are not pushed too far and amp power is not wasted on inaudible and/or unreproducable frequencies. This allows all the energy to be used to push the relevant frequencies, resulting in greater punch and clarity. A quick look at quality bass speaker designs (Barefaced, Vanderkley, Bergantino etc) shows that their operating range starts from 40hz and heads upwards. Trying to put frequencies lower than 40hz at high volumes through them will probably end in tears. This is where a HPF comes in and one of the popular and highly reccomended ones is the micro-Thumpinator which filters out frequencies below 25Hz. If you look at the EQ frequency centres for the Eich amp and think of the Lo and Lo-Mid in a slighly different way you in effect have a built in adjustable HPF! The Lo control cuts and boosts around 30Hz so if you use it to cut the signal it acts like a micro-Thumpinator. You then can use the Lo-Mid @250Hz to help shape the low end ouf your sound. It seems a bit counterintuitive turning the bass knob down to sound more like a bass but I've tried this out live with a number of different amps cutting the lows and boosting the low-mids and find it cleans up the sound and gives it more punch....YMMV. Maybe Magan Trainor should have sung "It's All About The Bass (Knob)" 🤣
  13. Sold some pickups to Steff. Easy experience and quick payment. Thanks
  14. I have a set of Voiced Tone VTB-ST pickups that I have taken out of my Cort Elrick NJS-5. Clear sounding and hum cancelling they are standard Fender 5 dimensions as shown in the photos. Only reason I changed them out is I had a set of Nordstrands that suit my needs better. From the Cort website here - "The new Voiced Tone VTB-ST single-coil pickups perfectly complement the big robust sound of the bass with modern clarity, transparency and vintage warmth while eliminating noise with its hum canceling design." Further info is here. Shipping in the UK included.
  15. For sale is my Tech21 MidiMoose pedal. I have had 2 of these in the past and this one is now surplus to requirements. In great, fully functional condition with only slight scuffing on a couple of corners. The pedal is robust and great for sending midi messages to other midi equipment / synths / DAW / effects etc. I used it with my TC G-Major. Powered by either a wall wart (supplied) or more usually a single 9v battery. Here a link to the Tech21 website and operating manual - Tech21. The pedal is simple to use and integrates into any midi system. It has been superceded by the Midi Mongoose a slightly smaller unit with less function switches (usually £150-ish). Shipping in the UK £5.
  16. For sale is my Smooth Hound wireless system in great condition complete with power supply / adaptors and instructions. This was a backup to my other Smooth Hound unit so hasn't had much use. Postage for the UK would be £5. Website is here.

  17. Just did a trade with Keir of my Roscoe with his ACG (a brand I've been wanting to try). Everything went smoothly and I'd be happy to deal again with him.
  18. As others have said Lee is a great guy to deal with. He just bought my Berg Forte. Great comms, quick payment. Many thanks.
  19. I know what you mean about offset bodies....loved the sound of the Thumb I had but found the short top horn pushed things a little too far to the left. I cant say I've really noticed the Roscoe being "left biased". I have fitted Dunlop dual use straplocks where they can be used with a standard strap or the Dunlop fittings. When I double checked where the Dunlop straplock plugs in, its at the 13th fret.
  20. Thanks for the offer but yeah, not what I'd be interested in 👍 GLWTS
  21. Something like this from North West Guitars. Nitro is quite toxic to spray and I believe needs special respirators, venting etc. Does it need to be nitro as there are "safer" options.
  22. It took me a while to get my head around this when I was first trying to install series / single / parallel switches in one of my basses. I then came upon this diagram showing 2 types of DPDT switch connections. It looks like the one in your diagram is type 1. Using this diagram and inserting the switch connections (in red) onto your diagram lets you see the current flowpath. Parallel Series Single This one is different because (for the top pickup) the current flows from the + , throught the black wire / pickup / white wire to the switch and then on to ground. Although the green wire is connected to the switch terminal the flow gets dead ended throught theother pickup to the red wire. Hope this helps
  23. Achieved....just for the number of CD's alone! 🤣
  24. For sale (or trade) is my Cort Elrick NJS 5 bass. The sale includes the Cort gig bag. There are some very small marks from use but easily missed and hard to photograph. The bass is as stock but I did swap the control knobs out. The original ones can be refitted and / or included in the sale (see the last photo). The same Bartolini preamp that’s installed on the US made original Elrick NJS basses is used, with 3-band EQ, 2-way push/pull mid select, and push / pull active bypass. Hum-cancelling Voiced Tone VTB-ST pickups. Wiring diagram attached. Why sell? Well, the merry-go-round of gear continues and I’ve decided I need to apply the rule as one comes in, another goes out. Not only that but I own 2 of these they’re that good. My initial idea was to defret one and get back into some fretless playing. Since then I came to my senses as I remember I’ve tried fretless several times in the past and it was not pretty! Collection preferred from Aberdeen so you can try it out. As Aberdeen is a long way from most of civilisation, I will ship to mainland UK at cost using Parcelforce. I’ve estimated this based on a London postcode to be £20 via Express24 (without insurance) Specs: Body: Alder Neck: Bolt-On, 3pcs Hard Maple Fretboard: Hard Maple, 24 frets with Zero Fret Inlay: White Pearloid Block Scale: 35" (889mm) 18mm string spacing at the bridge Pickups: Voiced Tone VTB-ST Electronics: Bartolini Elrick NJS Special Preamp (NTMB+F) Tuners: Hipshot Ultralite Weight 9lbs (bathroom scales)
  25. Just sold Steve a Gator rack unit. Quick payment, good comms and as others have said an easy transaction. Thanks Steve 👍
