1. Bumpity Bump for an update/review and pics????
 2. (and I'm proud to use a plectrum most of the time!) Nothing wrong with that, me too. Am just down the road from you in Swindon. Welcome Dave
 3. I think AC Guitars make them....
 4.
yep i was pretty pissed!! although for some reaon they took it out of the flight case and and just took the head!!
Total scum. Sorry to hear that. Can you post any pics?
 5.
You need to reverse the wiring on the neck pickup, I had the same problem when I first fitted Wizards to my Aerodyne.
Cheers Spike. Nice one!!
 6. We are talking £'s here aint we
 7.
That doesn't sound right! Maybe it is wired wrong or the D+G part of the split P is just in the wrong way around. p.
Think i will have to get it looked at. It has always been like that. The guy at my local guitar shop had a look when he wired the new pups in said it all looked OK.
 8.
I replaced the stock ceramic J pickup with an alnico NOS US one in my Aero...now I get a great sound from both. My Aerodyne is everything up full. So is the VMJ Squier. The BB614 is normally everything up full, but occasionally i solo the P pickup. I have a SX P copy on the way...no difficult decision there then! I never use a bridge pick up solo'd but they are good to have in the blend to add a bit of growl. I actually spend a bit of time adjusting pickup heights on my basses so I get the tone I like with everything up full. The BB614 definitely has the bridge pick up slightly higher. p.
Thats interesting, If i put both pickups on full the volume of the D and G strings drops a lot. It's like with both on full they phase each other out. Is the wiring wrong??
 9. Im weird and only use the front pickup on my Aerodyne. The bass is loaded with a Wizard Thumper and an '84, dont get me wrong the '84 is fantastically strong but the thumper is astounding. Maybe I should be thinking about getting a P bass!!!!!
 10.
There are a couple of speaker gurus on here that have explained it all in the previous threads - maybe someone should write up a wiki on it so they dont have to repeat it. I think it is to do with the human ear not being very sensitive to low frequencies and it is actually the harmonics that we hear when listening to low bass - so you dont need a cab that goes down to 42Hz (the fundamental frequency of a bottom E). Plus all the frequency response quoted by most cab makers is pants. From my own experience I got more low end from 2 Peavey 2x10's than I did from a 2x10/1x15. Plus mixing different sized speakers has unwanted sonic side effects - I think it is called comb filtering where the phase outputs from the different sized drivers interact to reinforce or cancel sound on a horizontal plane. This will manifest if you walk around when you are playing and hear different volume depending on where you stand in relation to your rig. This might all be bollocks mind. Try doing a search on comb filter.
Cheers, interesting! Thanks for the input everyone
 11. Just got rid of a 76, wondering if I should of. The top end was very prominent and the bottom end nice and round.
 12. I have the 1001 version and love it. Quite a 'modern' tone, cuts through well and small amounts of EQ tweaking give big rewards. From what I can tell there are a lot of GK users here.
 13. I do really really like the look of the Berg 6x10. Im just thinking 12's or 15's are going to give me more low end.
 14. Hi All Am changing my cabs soon. Will either go for a Trace 2x15 and a 2x10 or 2 of the Aguilar 2x12's. If anyone has had experience with any of the above, any comments/advice will be appreciated. Cheers Raggy

 16.
Depends what you're playing and whether it feels comfortable to you. Fivers to me feel too big and the strings always seem floppier which is no good for the sort of punk and indie covers I gig. Plus, I'm so used to 4s, that it seems odd to try and do something new. I think they're good for soul and heavy metal but they feel a bit strange playing the Clash and Green Day on!
+1 to that
 17. Jammed with Marvin Gaye's sax player and the drummer form The Pretenders in Portugal once. This year we supported Foxton and Buckler's Jam and gigged with Smeg from King Kurt
I thought the Laney valve head was friggin' awesome! Bangor is a bit far - you are more than welcome to try out an NV610 here in Brizzle. I've got an old Ampeg valve head (V4) and a GK700rbII to use with it.
What does the NV sound like with the GK head G-bitch?.
 19. Nice one. A mate has one the same, every time I go round there I have to pick it up and have a quick try.
 20. ) My band (Seven Years On) are playing Riffs Bar on Friday evening, Swindon has some great venues!
+1 to that. Sounds like a few more pubs are going to start live music again soon aswell. We were at Riffs last weekend, always have a good time there whether we are playing or watching.
 21.
The Two Pigs at Pickwick (A4) Corsham has live bands on Monday nights. And you never know, Floyd's Nick Mason lives 200 yards away, might pop in.
Cheers, might pop down and have a look
