1.
I don't own one. Yet. But I will, hopefully before the year is out!
oh i see! read it wrong. how much they going for alex? (you do them right?)
 2.
Barefaced cabs are "not a bit pricey" indeed (see what i did there?!) Sorry... They are a damn good bargain for the performance and weight advantages over more readily available cabs. As it says on the site, I still hold the Compact up as the best 1x15 cab I've ever heard. When I have some money for myself (instead of being put aside for MiniMert) I will be owning two.
go on then, what did you pay for it? they do look bloomin good....and light! I have a mini me due in may so the wife has cut down on my pocket money!
 3. if i ever started comparing my basses to women i would come to one conclusion - i need to get laid!
 4.
It might help to state your budget
200-300 inc used gear.
 5.
I've just ordered one of these, http://barefacedbass.com/index.html I have read many good things about them, might suit you too. Craig
i have looked at them before. are they not a bit pricey? ill be thrifting it in the second hand market.
 6.
The only thing the size of a speaker tells you is how big it looks - some tens sound deep, some fifteens sound punchy, some twelves have tons of bottom whilst some have none. You're better off considering what kind of sound you want, how loud you need to be, what you are willing to carry and how much you have to spend. The shortlist that results may consist of three or four cabs with completely different speaker configurations despite being similar weights, prices and sounding similar. Yes, it is rather confusing! Alex
dont confuse me, i will get scared. Sound wise.....erm......growly rock sound? do like to feel the bass as well as hear it. not keen on overly crisp bright speakers or thudie muffled dub sounding speakers. p.s. i have decided to work toward my dream and own an orange head so looking at a bass terror when it's out. If not will be looking for a cheap second hand bass head. So will be plaing through one of them. but this may never happen and i may go back to looking at a GK/ampeg head. but fingers crossed for orange.
 7. i wish i could afford schroeder but way out of my budget. not thought about buying two single 12inch cabs. might give that a thought.
 8. Whats out there at the moment in the way of 2 x 12? I'm thinking, when i get my new head i want to keep the cab weight and size down. However a 2 x 10 is not great at holding a low end (and dont have the room or back for a 4 x 10? and a 1 x 15 is gonna have a fatter sound so a 2 x 12 may be ideal for me. With the hope of making a mini big rig if you know what i mean? But 2 x 12 seem to be rare for bass, and when i do find one its out of my budget.
 9.
noo... i was thinking of these- dunno who the bass players were for these videos, but hes defintaly using a 50's precision/50's reissue/telebass
Scott Shriner in first one. great player sham how the band have turned out. matt sharp in the second.
 10.
i owned a black one & have to say it was a really nice bass, the only downside for me was the preamp-i just couldn't get "that" sound from it,but i am a fussy old blues fart. i should think it will excel in a rock/punk type of band, but they do look cool don't they.
I have this now! love it. perfect for me. except if i had my way i would pull out the active circuts and just have a lovely passive sound. feels like a jazz but has a lovely. Excellent bass for the price.
 11. nothing about this on the orange site. anybody know when it'll be out? the more i look at it the more i want one. 4 kgs! im off work with a bad back so i may have to join the light weight crew! just hope it produces something like the orange sound. at a push my favourite sounding bass and guitar amps.
 12. depends where it is. if its easy reaxch for most people (along eastcoast/west coast mainline on train) or something then it would be a great idea. however i'm fat and lazy so may not turn up!
 13. I am a 27 year old bass player based in Harrogate North Yorkshire. I am in an original band but I’m looking starting/joining a couple of projects in order to keep busy musically. I’m to the following: 1. Function/wedding band – playing for money (not beer). A covers band that will play either soul/northern soul/classic rock/pop but nothing to cheesy! 2. Experimental band – either instrumental/alt. jazz/ambient/psychedelic. As long it is different and a little of the beaten path it will be considered. 3. Session/deputising work. Need a bass player? I may be able to fill in. I’m certainly not looking to give up the day job and become a career musician. But I do wish to work with people with a pro attitude in order to make whatever the project worked on is fun and productive. I am available for rehearsals in Harrogate and surrounding area only. As you may understand bounding about the region after a days work with a family at home is not ideal. I do have my own transport and gear. 18.
is it really interest free? They said student loans were interest free then they just compound at a rate slightly above the base rate. Given the money problems we are all about to suffer i would recommend wee british companies may need your interest free money more than Fender corp. or yamaha corp. or whoever...
it is 100% free* *i have not checked my facts
