1. Dear fellas, i need your expertise and advices... I was trying to adjust the pickup height on my warwick streamer bolt on, but it seems that the previous owner screwed a few screws. Some of them aren´t working at all even though i got them rotating. The thing is, i can get them rotating, but they just don´t come out no matter for how long i keep turning them. When i looked closer in to the pickup holes i noticed that the screws are attached to some kind of metalic washer. I belive either the screw or the washer got damaged (maybe both). Any one had the same issue? Are there any surprises i should know when trying to remove the old ones? Thanks in advance
2. I only have one explanation and it´s called loud drummer. It would be much more confortable if he played at a reasonable volume but for some reason that just don´t seems possible. Ear plug mode: ON. Problem solved.
3. I´ve been using EXL in diferent gauges for years without any complain, they feel good, and sound good and i like their price too.
4. I have a permanet high frequency hiss in both ears wich i belive to be tinitus. When the new (and very loud) drummer joined the band, about a year ago i started to notice pain durin the rehersals and a a lot of ringing before that. So i just started to look for ear protection. Tried a few but they all muffled the sound so much that stuggled a lot find the right pitch. I allways ended taking them off. At the moment i´m usig custom moulded plugs with elacin´s ER15 and they are by far the best i´ve tried. It took a wile to get used to it, but still can have a clear conversation, have fun with the band and find the right pich.
5. I change mine every 6 month or whenever they start to sound dead or having intonation issues. Allways change the complete set, but one at the time, unless i want to clean the fretboad and polish the frets or give it a more complete setup
6. Voted 6 but only have 3 at the moment.

Warwick Streamer Bolt on (4 Strings)
Cort RB4 (4Strings)
Ibanez SR 745 (5 Strings)
7.
Personally I really liked the way that he managed to avoid choosing any notes whatsoever that fit in with the song in any way shape or form whilst simultaneously keeping each and every note played completely out of time as well. As if that wasn't enough he then managed to maintain all that whilst playing whole sections where his left hand and right hand weren't even sycronised with each other. Surely it takes some special kind of talent to play soooo many notes and to still not to play a single right one even by mistake! Quite simply... Genius!
That´s the kind of stuff only higly advanced players can dream about
8. I was watching this Guthrie Govan live performance, and sudendly (at 1:39)...bass solo!!! Is it just me or this was just ...awfull. https://www.youtube....h?v=ozbZeZZwSIw
9. I ´ve been using Elacin ER15s for a few months now, and i found them great. Great protections, sound precision, and confort. I tried a few budget options before but could never play with them as i couldn´t clearly understand the notes that were beeing played. That´s specially important when the music your band creates is partialy based on jaming. Before i was using the elacins my hears ringed alot after every reharsal. I play with a very loud drummer, and that pushes the overall sound to unhealthy noise levels. Now i have no problem with that. The only complain if it can called that way, is that i find it a bit harder to talk to the band mates in between songs.
10.
I think both mids and focus are quite subtle but still noticeable when you go from min to max. I might attempt to record a demo of Musket in near future, so you will be able to compare the original to your clone. EDIT: you can have a look here for a video http://basschat.co.u...my-fuzz-pedals/
Nice video mSz. They´re really subtle... i thought it was just mine. Thanks
11. Growl? ...something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqzfYPk9X5I In a certain way it reminds me a cat purring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFtgB_KQD_s
12. @Yawn_blah, I gess a EQ pedal migth be useful in future situations, so i don´t think it´s a waste of mondey. I would try a budet EQ pedal. Read a few reviews, and they seem to do the same trick even with less hiss than de boss version. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BEQ700.aspx
13. Nice and afordable pedal. The controls are not very obvious and took me some time to get along with it. Remember the fact Bass and Treble are allways on. Harmonics, mix and Brite only work when "ON" is pressed. And shape only activates when "shape" is pressed
14. Great layout on this pharoh fuzz clone
15. First i would try a diferent strap or .. have you considered changing the center of gravity insted of spending all the extra cash in tuners and bridge? I´ve never tried this but i supose that changing the position of the strap bolt would solve the neck dive issue. I guess this is why a some builder like Rob Elrick or Michael Tobias place them like this.
16.
I built my own and only have that to go on, but those controls are quite subtle, but they do make a difference. I did try a guitar (as opposed to a bass) through it when I first built it, but can't remember if they had a stronger effect with that or not.
Thanks KingBollock. Just the two of us having fun with the musket???
17. I just got a musket clone and i noticed that the Mids and the Focus controls have litlle efect do the sound. Is that that subtle or is there a problem with the pedal? With Mids, I can only tell the difference from minimum to 12 o´clock. With Focus, i can oly tell the difference from 3 to 5 o´clok. Did any of you guys experienced something similar? Thanks in advance
18. I´m also in instrumental fusion trio, and also had to change the sound i liked to the sound that worked. You have to work together in order to find the band´s sound, and the sound that suits all and the music you´re playing.
19.
Anyone with one of these have this dimension?
55mm
20. I use the Ultimate Support GS-1000, and it´s great. Light, surdy, stable and my favorite feature...foldable.
21.
I have to jump in here to defend the accusations Behringer use slave labour. Behringer run a company city in China, cleverly named 'Behringer City' where the staff get free medical care, have access to good quality living accommodation, libraries, public parks and schools for their children. They are paid a reasonable wage for Chinese standards and by all accounts live a nice life.
Glad to hear that! I hope whe all had in mind those slave labour issues mensioned before when buyin all those big brands everybody likes to show off. These days most brands are made in PRC, or at least the it´s components are. Behringer can come up with this prices because they don´t have a researsh department and because whe don´t see them spending tons of cash sponsoring superstars, and all kinds of marketing material that "brands" have to do to survive the competition.
22. Excuse my question, but what kind of "effect" are you expecting? I`m not a user of this piece of gear but i belive this a rack unit compressor/limiter. This should sound as transparent as possible. Hope this helps: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/dc24.shtml
23. I´ve been using a vt bass to add diferent flavours to my sond, and i really like the tonal possibilities, from smoth valve break up, to high gain overdrivel. But i´m think of combing a fuzz. Any thoughts on how it would work in a band context? I would like to add some new textures but I`really need to cut in the mix as i play in a instrumental rock/ metal/fusion trio How about the black arts, pharaoh or the LSTR?
24.
I've been using a One Spot power supply for the last year. It's been totally dependable and has been in use A LOT so nothing but praise for it. Very simple and small to pack away. I guess the only thing is whether you are after a 'box' type format or more of a lead which is what the One Spot is. You can get various daisy chain connections for your pedals according to what number you need it to supply. For me it's been three and has been great. Recommended if it meets your needs.
+1. Been using one for years to feed 5 pedals. Works great, it´s small and light wheight.
