1. Watching Later. Love feist and her Gonzales collaborations, but tonight she`s shining! What a band, the brass make the hairs on my nuts stand up! Not sure about the French band,Plan B from le Winehouse. heads up for Bon Iver, packing a much larger ensemble than his Greenman setup. Baritone sax? Kinell! Brass,is definitely back.
2. So.. I`m putting in serious time on my Hohner 83 Precision and getting cramp and aches along the lefty pinky. Doesn`t happen with my Vox. Doesn`t happen with my MIM Jazzes. I know the P neck is 42mm to the J 38mm but I think it`s more the profile. I tried a couple of early 80s MIJ Ps last week and they felt the same, no better. So please tell me what profiles for a P are out there, and how do Jazz friendly hands get with the P. Jazz neck on a P bod? Ta.
3. Tempted. reds not my thang but it looks quite fetching.
4. I adore Gretsch stuff. Can`t help it. I`ll text a guitarist I know who feels the same way, he plays in a few bluegrass/blues outfits.
5. Nice Vox Phantom. What`s with the keyboard players legs? In fact, what`s with all their legs?
6. I hate drummers who only have one volume. Full. Forget your carefully crafted dynamics, your light and shade, the delicate arrrangements, all f***ed coz he`s loving it.

I have the BDDI and am quite happy with it. I also use their cable tester, which is superb and have some multigates(get out of jail for £20 stuff) and a couple of ADA 8000 8 way pre-amp which I used on my Yam 01v96 desk. £300 for 16 in/out on adat? No brainer. You can hear the difference on the pre-amps, but you have to listen bloody hard. Their sonic quality appears to have arrived, and their build quality seems to be catching up. Hmmm I may have a look at their squidgy synthy thing, the one on my Boss is a little difficult to tease sounds from.
8.
Yes, I understand the transposition theory but I'm sure Mr Wonder can write in any key and transpose it for any instrument he likes.... Eb minor pentatonic is the 5 black keys on a keyboard. I can't think of too many other artists who use this key so much.
Zutons Valerie (sax) Mary J Blige Family Jocelyn Brown Somebody elses guy (or given my keyboard player now rechristened Somebody Elses Chords) Gwen Guthrie Nothing going on but the rent Swing out sister Am I the same Girl Are just some of the tunes I need to detune for. There are more on the upcoming setlist You can play them in normal tuning, but there`s no low E and it`s a pita. I suppose we could transpose up to E but that`s a little sophisticated for the keys player and I just got him to a state where he mostly remembers the key.
9.
Never build a guitar out of 'shrooms.
Fixed.
10. Erm, I can`t find a price anywhere in your post..?
11. Have you had the bass set up by a luthier? If not it may be worth the £40 to make sure your nut isn`t choking the D and get it looked over.
12. Well, you do don`t you? If not you must be the only bloody one here! I`ve been finding I actually prefer tuning down to Eflat for a lot of songs, makes life easier in many respects, but you do need two basses.
13.
this one is in D but were doing it in Bflat not just once but almost every song in the set! i dont complain TOO loud to be honest as im not a singist so i guess its their prerogative
Nice to have a detuned bass handy "so,like.. Markbass.. Thats made by Behringer yeah?"
14. Lots of PRC gaffa about, tis useless. For the real deal use someone like UK Tour Supplies http://www.toursupply.co.uk/

Behringer

Behringer basically make a living ripping off everybody elses sh*t and undercutting them by making it in the PRC. They used to do it badly, but got away with it because it was so cheap. Now they do it rather better and have some decent sounding stuff out there. The build quality has improved over the last decade, but beware some of the pedals as they have a rep for flimsiness. I have 4 carefully picked bits of Behringer gear and they all do a good job of work. It all depends on your budget/self image

Wow! I bought Marks Straplocks yesterday morning and they arrived this morning! I think that gets my "Fastest purchase and delivery on BC" award. Contents exactly as described. need I say more? Thanks Mark MM
17. Now I`m intrigued! Steve let us know how it goes etc will you? MM
18. Hey Mike, nice Van! Regarding the inverter, you`ll need a fairly hefty one if you`re going to run a couple of laptops and some phone chargers and it is as you`ve heard, wasteful to convert 12v to 240v only to have someone use a wall wart charger to drop it back to 12v again There are lots of 12v power supplied for netbooks and phones etc, encourage those using your van to buy one for their kit! I have one for my Netbook, cameras and phone. There are cheap triple outlet 12v+usb boxes on the net that you could stick on either side of the van, and the usb is dead handy for phones and ipods etc. I`d still fit an inverter, but use it only when you have to, to keep the load down. Btw what split charge system are you fitting? is it the 30amp smartcom? What Ah is your leisure batt? Soz for all the questions, but I built my own campervan and so got interested in all this sort of stuff. Regards, MM
19. I`ve done this while hot-swapping cabs on my LM 2. It`s a normal protection feature. Just reboot the amp. As to the fans, they are standard computer issue and they can be replaced with silent running ones in under 20 minutes and for a few pounds/dollars. MM
20. That photo looks a bit blurry... Any chance of a model number or dimensions? MM
21. Can someone please translate? Have you a BC price for these or is this a nudge to your eBay ad only?
22. You will be nervous, which is an odd feeling for a bloke in his 40/50s so don`t babble. When I`m nervous I tend to over agree with someone and jump in to show them I understand, try to avoid that. Take only what you need,if you take spares, leave them in the car. Remember that you are auditioning them just as much as they are you, so let them do the babbling! If you are prepared,in tune and competent then you have the advantage and shouldn`t need to over do it. Less is definitely best IMO. They`ll be happier taking on someone who needs a little time to fit in than someone who comes across as a know it all. I had my first musical audition 3 months ago and I took too much gear, arrived a bit too early, expected them to know the tunes as well as me if not more,(they didn`t) and was suprised it only lasted 30 minutes. I babbled in an attempt to express my enthusiasm and musical knowledge. Luckily I got the gig and still have it despite that. Good luck
