Considered a Bergantino 1x12 to match the 2x12? You're spoilt for choice really. Are you looking for lightweight as well? If so, you could narrow the field a bit by deciding on a maximum weight and ignoring anything heavier.

If he says "yes" to an offer done by another route, he could withdraw it and not pay the final value fees. So if he sold it for £300, that would save him £30.

Have been using that under my Tecamp Puma for some time now.

I'm not sure about being embarrassed but it does rather catch me unawares. My response tends to be along the lines of "Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Really enjoyed playing here tonight.". Though it's more often Mrs Zero who gets the compliments, and as she's a little less capable of self-assessment than me and thinks she's not as good as she actually is, it catches her out even more than me.

The worst sounding bass I own is my one passive bass. Before that, it was my other passive bass. Five strings or more and active is the only way to go. Someone wake me up when this is over.

Very lovely. But does it really have 18-carat gold frets? They're not going to last too well. I do like the snap-on scratchplate and rear panel. Saves having 18-carat gold screws all round the edge.

It's the perfect excuse to buy a 5-string.

I coil cables using the over and under method and then a velcro tie of the sort that stay attached. One lead lives in the main bass case (for rehearsal I just use the bass and lead), one lead with power extensions attached to it lives in the amp case, then pretty much all the rest live in a small roll-along suitcase. Might seem excessive but this includes the leads for the PA (multiple assorted XLR cables, a few jack-jack leads, several IEC mains leads, 6-way and 8-way boards, 1-way extension reel).

Just to put Fodera's bass pricing in perspective: I have just acquired a Warwick Buzzard via this very site. I realised when I got it home that I hadn't entirely thought it through, as I didn't have a suitable stand (I do have wall hangers, but I might be looked on askance if I took a wall to a gig) and the Hercules grab stand is marginally too short. So I gwgled, and found a chap who hand-makes a stand for Buzzards and similarly wonky and long instruments (Explorers and Alembic Dragonwings for example). I emailed him to ask the price of his stands (steel tubing tripod, two legs forward and one back, neck holder like a Stagg stand) and was slightly surprised to find that they were $599 plus $100 shipping. That is the correct number of 9s after the 5. So, buy one of his stands for $699 plus whatever HMRC wants to extract from me, or buy a Hercules stand and a lump of wood a couple of inches thick to stand it on. Call me a philistine who doesn't appreciate craftsmanship, but I've just ordered a Hercules stand.

The sockets on my active monitor are on the side, so to see which orifice I was plugging the mixer feed into, I tilted it up. Then it slipped out of my hand and landed straight on my big toe. I was wearing my customary footwear - moccasins. That happened around a year ago and the huge purple bit on my toenail has only just grown out.

I'm still no Fender expert, but I would have expected to see a big crosshead adjuster at the end of the neck where he's proudly showing the neck date stamp. And they didn't hold those great big chrome ashtrays on with suction cups, either.
