  1. Love the way you are developing this bass into your own unique version.
  2. I've seen one on eBay at the moment for ยฃ575 which is a surprise as it doesn't look too smart to me. Also the seller describes it as a 'heavy lump' - I'm sure mine was only around 6kg.
  3. Ashdown should revive the LB550 case, with the same tube front end and a decent power stage. I found the one in my LB550, and MiBass 550, to be quite lacking. Maybe the RM module. I love the LB format though.
  4. Welcome aboard The Good Ship Basschat. Lots of good advice here already. You realise at some point you will need to change your nickname here ๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜Ž Cheers Geoff
  5. Ooh such a classic cab at a bargain price. Cover too.... Surely won't be here for long.
  6. I've had a few different Ashdown amps in my time, and none of them have been bad. One regret I have is never owning a Spyder. I played one of the 550 versions at a mini festival type thing about 6 years ago and loved it's tone and simplicity, like you said above. Valve front end with their class AB solid state power stage. Not much to complain about there.

Ooh look darling, how about a side table for drinks? No, she said.
  8. I'd use the ABM line out which is post- master volume. Use the active cab volume control to set the appropriate relative levels, and you should be good to go. ๐ŸŽธ
  9. I've done that before. Gone in to a shop looking at amps, and came out with a bass. ๐ŸŽธ
  10. Jolly good choice. Enjoy muchly ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽธ
  11. Forty four beer tokens? Nicely done sir!
  12. Why the LMB3? Well I've used it for years, always does what I need it to and is easy to use, reliable and solid. That makes it a quality pedal for me. And live that is invaluable. There are other more expensive ones out there of course.
  13. Surely that would be it's 'brother site' lol
  14. To be honest I already thought it was, kinda. It's the only reason I come here ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽธ
  15. Nice one, glad you got a result there.
  16. Oh. The clever censor turned my a-word for bottom into derriere. It even added the correct French accent. Impressive. Mange tout Rodney.
  17. Agreed. It's the hairy arsed bike scene to which I referred earlier. However, I am old so my derriรจre is permanently hairy.
  18. Would love to play it down the Dog & Duck. In fact it's probably worth more than the Dog & Duck.
  19. Definitely try the additional cab first, just in case. However, if the Trace gets the sound exactly as you want, I think the answer is there. Please do let us know how it pans out. Geoff
  20. Do you have a budget in mind? I'd go with the Trace, by the way ๐Ÿ˜€ Geoff
  21. Yeah.... Who on earth would want to have the word 'bass" in their username? Sheer madness, I tell thee. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿค
  22. Would that be a Police record? Ouch... Coat got...
  23. How very tasty, and my YOB ๐ŸŽธ
  24. That's a fair point my friend. About 30 years ago, or more, I was a regular attendee of many biker festivals throughout the UK. Of note were the Kent Custom Bike shows run annually by the local Hell's Angels. My god what fabulous weekends they were. A total festival environment where all were welcome and partied, whether you rode a Harley, a BMW, Guzzi, Japanese or a Vespa. They got some cracking well known bands to headline. Great times. As you say, things are different now. I'm not the party animal I once was, and the carefree enjoyment attitude just doesn't seem to be there from youngsters. Everyone is too busy with the latest iPhone to care lol. I don't ride any more, but I do play bass. It's my last thread connecting me to something different. ๐ŸŽธ Geoff
