1. Rod Hull used to be a musician. Unfortunately he misread a vital contract, and thought he was signing to EMI.
 2.
I forgot to take the second box into account - duh.
Duly noted and will be taken into account at your yearly review, young man.
 3. I bet the box is heavier than the individual amp it contains, so id guess a weight of around 30kg for one box and two amps inside. Give or take a kilo or two.
 4.
Aaah, I see. A bit like a Secret Cinema - you hope for 'Miller's Crossing' but worry you'll end up with 'On the Buses' ?
Erm, other way around for me lol.
 5. Mick Hucknell's hair is, well, simply red. Apparently he dyed it to match...
 6.
Neither was Barry White.
Nor Cilla Black
 7. Now, where's the 'Like' button....?
 8.
I raise my 210 cab off the floor by putting a 210 cab under it. Works a treat 😀
That'll never catch on. Lol
 9.
Also , can I buy an amp head and just use it with headphones? (Assuming it has a headphone socket) If i can do that then it means I have the tone options that i would gety with a combo through headphones but without the size taken up by the speaker
Yep indeed you can, I do this with one of my Trace heads sometimes. A valve output stage requires a load connected - usually meaning a cab. So stick to a sold state design and you should be fine.
 10. Another vote for the Roland Bass Cube 30 here, cracking bit of kit. However it looks like the Vox Amplug might satisfy your needs if you are going headphones only.
 11.
PMd re dimensions.
And replied. For the benefit of others, the actual amp unit (not including the outer wooden housing) is a standard 2U rack height and width, with a front-to-back dimension of 26cm. It doesn't come with rack ears though.
 12.
I'm looking for a 500w head. As I don't know my watts from my ohms but read somewhere that doubling the wattage only raises the volume a knatts whisker would this be loud enough for a biggish gig ie. More than the average pub gig but smaller than the Albert Hall?
Yes I think it would be fine. The main thing to consider is what cabs you will be using it with. I'm usually using a single 15 which easily does pubs and clubs. Add a second cab and you will fill much larger places. Probably not the Albert Hall, though lol. A 4x10 or 2x12 would more than likely suffice for all your needs.
 13.
It does seem to run counter to the natural order of things. Burn the Brighton heretics!
As I look out the window from my BN postcode house, I see a huge wicker bass cab being built atop the cliffs...
 14.
Luckily enough I feel the same way about Jaco as some Basschatters feel about Barefaced cabs.
Jaco did have a great handle on his style, though.
 15.
Awesome amp at a crazy price. How has this not sold yet??? 😧
Indeed. Still worth a little bump though.
 16.
I always reply, unless it's york5stringer. When I joined BassChat, the memo I received said not to reply to his PMs. Didn't you all get the same?
I think you'll find its also in the BC T and C's Runs for the hills.....
 17.
Agreed, but if someone uses the mobile only version, you actually have to click on the navigations function to see whether you have any messages. I've missed messages this way and think I'm right in saying that once you do check them on a mobile, if you've received multiple messages, once you've clicked the first one the number disappears. Either that or there's something screwy going on with my iPad.
I get email alerts to all PM messages, so I get notified even without having to check on BC. The alert also includes the message text, which is handy.
 18. Yes, out of courtesy I would always reply. Its not too much of a task to type a quick response, and at least the original sender knows I got their message.
