  1. Nicely done. The second one stands out more for me, Passing through the black abyss and What if I saw Angels most of all. I think releasing shorter albums more often might be a way to go in this day and age where you're forgotten about after a few weeks if nothing new comes out. Actually The Last Light Year is on right now. That has a nice feel to it.
  2. A few lessons from Scott and he could be a bit like Andy's bass for eude, quite good.
  3. It seems we are back in the 1960s, in a sense, when bands were being ripped off left right and centre by management and record companies. Maybe we need more Peter Grants in the industry to just walk over everyone to get the bands what they deserve.
  4. I think that's a pretty open attitude you have Kevin. In this day and age it is more and more difficult to make money from just making music. I look at guys like Steve Lawson and Janek Gwizdala and they both have a number of different income streams to fund their lives. They both have the same attitude too, if you wnat it you have to go out and get it. Same in any walk of life I suppose.
  5. I was checking in with an ambient artist, eyes cast down, I follow on Bandcamp recently. He has suspended sales of his music through Bandcamp. As he states "I think it’s more accurate to describe the music business as “career homicide” for creators". This fits with something else I read recently about Companies such as Amazon, iTunes and Spotify being able to use your music without paying you for it. I have just finished watching a video of the announcement of the 'Music Modernization Act' (MMA)that has recently been signed into law in the USA. This was passed into law unanimously. This "law ensures artists receive the compensation they are owed, encourages fair industry competition, and protects the intellectual property rights of studios nationwide—among other benefits". What are the thoughts of some of you who have more experience of this than I do?
  6. There's no "oh dear" about it. If you hadn't bought it you'd have ended up with 'what if' for the rest of your life. That's worse than being cast into hell fire and damnation. 😄
  7. I wonder how many people will get that? It congers up loads of images in my mind (if that doesn't sound like I'm on something). I like the way you've used effects on the sound sources.
  8. The Helix does not do anything as good or as long as the Big Sky. I have my Big Sky in a stereo send and return. It's set in the Helix to allow the trails in endless reverb and I have the Helix pedal set to control the decay on the Big Sky through midi. Works really well. There are some good reverbs on Helix but not a patch on the Strymon.
  9. Bill Vincel (Chords of Orion) put up this useful video last week.
  10. I'm not aware of being able to apply more than one MIDI note to a footswitch, someone correct me if I'm wrong. There are ways round that though. I have a patch that I use to play the root and whatever additional pitch I select with it, all at the same time. Plays a two note chord from one note. Great with the Ebow. That uses the 'dual pitch' effect. Very easy to set up. I have it set to play the root with 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th. I don't know if that's what you mean. Anyway here's a vid of it in practice.
  11. I can't find that in the 'ACG Book of Ultimate Compliments'. It must be a new one for the next addition. Look forward to seeing that with a finish on it.
  12. This one's been hanging around on Ebay for a while. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Status-graphite-groove-5-string-bass/143019558345?hash=item214ca145c9:g:h8kAAOSwK3Zblnps:rk:3:pf:0
  13. That looks really good. I think the accidental oversized neck pocket works really well too. It wouldn't look as good without it.
  14. OK, I'll bite. The clip below is a video describing the patch I made up to perform sound on sound (Frippertronics). Made for the Floor but I'm sure it can be adapted for the other platforms. And the download on Customtone site. https://uk.line6.com/customtone/tone/4067668/
  15. If you go on to say that you like Peri Como, Andy Williams and Jack Jones then a recommendation might have to be put to admins to review your membership. 😄 As has been said already, if someone enjoys what they do why not carry on. Donald Sutherland has just played a major role in 'Trust' on't tele aged 83. Did a damn good job too.
  16. Someone has been reading the ACG Book of Compliments again. 😄
  17. In music you never make mistakes. They're just accidentals.
  18. I'd certainly recommend a Status bass but then I am biased. The S3 in this vid is the best bass I have ever played and that's saying something against my Overwater and ACG. The necks Status make are to die for. They fit my hands so well, so comfortable to play.
  19. Love this. I like the the music you're making these days Kevin. Developing nicely.
  20. Good all round, especially the drumming. 👍👍👍
  21. The first piece is great. So soothing and calm. Good work Kevin.
  22. Blowing my own trumpet again with more mellowness. Won't take two guesses what inspired this one.
  23. Two questions to ask yourself. Is your life ever perfect? Answer - No. Have you survived that imperfection? Answer - Yes. There you go then.
  24. Thanks for taking the time to comment. #4.1 is coming soon.
