  1. So...could this be added to a multi effect to add 7 extra foot switches? Please excuse my ignorance.
  2. A friend has asked if 8 years old is too young to start lessons. I can't do it as they live too far from me, but what do folk think?
  3. I think it's all linked to my obsessive pedal buying. I just like pedals. Enjoy collecting them, regret selling. By putting boards together I get to use a bunch of different ones rather than them just sitting on a shelf. Each board is usually quite similar to it's predecessor. Comp, octave, boost, dirt, modulation and envelope filter. I like the flexibility to be able to create synth sounds with pedal combinations, otherwise I like to add a synth too .
  4. As I put my board together for Friday's gig, it occurred to me that I didn't used to build a pedal board for every gig. Does anyone else enjoy doing this? Or am I alone, perhaps slightly insane?
  5. Not having used b3k I couldn't say. It's my always on dirt pedal. I haven't gigged it yet (just about to go on) but it's reasonably low gain. Although it does get gnarly.
  6. Tonight's board. Couple of new Joyo pedals. Great compressor, Double Thruster overdrive and the vision modulation. The Vision is really a multi effect with some neat features. Not least of which is parallel routing
  7. It does! It's in the phone app you use to control it. I've gigged with mine. It's really good
  8. Another super smooth transaction with Dunc. Bought a pedal and everything was perfect
  9. Back working after a period of ill health. Bandeoke in Bristol. Starting to take off at last. I went with my little Trace Cabs which are firm favourites now, and VM P bass. All sounded good to me.
  10. Problems with my sound on the weekend so I'm withholding judgement .
  11. Looks like you're a bass player after my own heart. Lots if lovely looking pedals. How do you get on with the Boost Chorus?
  12. I get told to turn it down. The last time I used an amp in that band I literally couldn't hear myself.
  13. I appreciate your positive vibes - thanks man. But I do the pa 😅😅
  14. Sorry I meant I did away with my amp and cab. So if they wanted bass they had to ask for it
  15. How much are you valued by your bandmates? This has been a recurring theme of mine at recent gigs. Last night I changed the set up and put everything through the pa, no backline for me, just a monitor. The singer gave the sound a big thumbs up in soundcheck, and away we went. Guess what? Not one member of the band asked for bass in their foldback. This isn't always the case - some of my bands love the bass, but last night's bunch, not so much. Audience enjoyed the evening and I got paid.
  16. I'll attend to it
  17. I'm after a low gain overdrive, not a special effect but an always on pedal to gently warm and break up my clean sound. I've tried (and liked) several, but get them in a band mix, and they all add an unlooked for 'fizz' to the sound. This Genzler pedal is the latest in a long line. Ticks all the boxes: clean mix, controls for amount of drive and level, a switch to increase / decrease drive sensitivity, and four different drive intensities. But the joker in this already impressive pack is the tone control. Two filters, one high pass, one low pass. Could this be the solution to my fizzy problem? Well, I'll let you know after the weekend, but the early indications are very promising.
