maybe throw in a couple more covers to do alternate originals/covers through the second set ? you could choose covers that would sit well next to your own material and also ones that are easy enough that they would be very quick to learn and get up to speed ??

[/quote] i think im going to go get one of those capos suggested above and have a fiddle with it - i find playing with things like that far more entertaining than trying to get decent sounds out of an octaver or synthbass pedal

i asked if they minded we do it in E - they didnt mind!

i dont mind transposing on the fly if its basic patterns but whilst Rio is fairly basic it is rather busy and i just dont feel the drive is there playing up 3 - and then there's that nice big fat open EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE .......... ive never seen it (on a bass) does anybody do it? does it work? (i see no reason why it shouldn't) i have an audition this evening - they want Duran/Rio - no problem I can rock the pants off it in the original key - they want it up three semitones in G

scuse the bluntness but 6 months really is pi55 all i flogged all my gear many years ago and regretted it massively (from my own personal exp unless you are loaded with beer tokens, you simply cannot go out and replace a trace rig a status and a trb6p 'just like that')
