1. Yes it is, I have both his books now which would just about cover anything you need to do, think of it as a Haynes manual and you cant go far wrong..... From changing strings to changing a fretboard and about everything in between. Superb VFM IMO.....
2.
anyone tried the fender flats ? seems i should have ordered thomastick flats . oh well will give them a try .
Yep I tried some (9050s I think), found them roughly finished and not overly pleasant tonally. Went to D'addarios and use them all the time now, but have recently got into GHS flats too.... they are superb from new (ie dont really require 'playing in' to get the best tone from them) and they are so smoov on your fingers..... I really quite like them.
3. Thats a helluva lot of bass for that money go for it.....
4. rather than loosening the t-rod try raisng the A saddle a bit it sounds abit low. Might be a knacked string too.....
5. Judging by the entry in teh 'blue book' it is bit dear, but then its only worth what someone is prepared to pay and it is a minter!
6. C'mon guys the dude want a PRS ....... Help him out so he can get with the programme....! (SE Custom is a great choice BTW, you'll love it ! )

10. (hands in pockets, shuffles feet and whistles to the sky..........) There seems to be a trend amongst us ____sters of wealth redistribution, and GAS....... N'est pas?
11. Its pretty obvious isnt it? While there is still passion and desire for the drum, bass, & 1or2 geetar band format, things will stay the same...... There was a bit of a design flourish in the 80s, but Britpob bought the format back into vogue in the 90s..... Whilst Geetarists (bless 'em) still want to play Strats and Les Pauls we'll be twanging Fender clones of one sort or another.... These are generalisations I know, but just check out popular geetar sales, and you'll see what I mean...
12. Boys boys..... all fair comments! The PRS fretless (which incedently I had seen already.... ) is a Bass 4 not an EBIV which is my toy of preferance.... so thats not on my agenda you cheeky boy.... ! As for having 1st dibs for after I've owned it, pimped it and played it a bit.... I may hold you to that, altough we'll have to see how I get on with fretless to assess its longevity...... (unless of course you know of an EBiV fretless up for grabs...?) besides I'm not as bad some (on here) for chopping and changing...... am I ?
13. Try saying Mesa without saying Mmmmmmmmmm.....
14. bump..... Just because I saw another BCer managed to get rid of some old jap bits, and these would be of use to someone I'm sure....
15.
F. me. A Shuker for a price I could justify spending on a bass. Not that I'm buying now, but my eyebrows did raise when I saw the price.
Bog orf, I got 1st dibs..... I'm hoping its what I'm after..... Just waiting on a reply......
16. PM'd.... and emailled.... just in case....
17. Anyone got one? I'm tempted to get a fretless for noodling..... OK or pants?
18. Sorry but another +1 for Walkabout scout... Mine is green with tan handle, screen and corners.......
19. Whilst I wouldnt compete with Jon's Matsumoko approach, I do have a good friend whois just starting out with a Laser engraver and he is currently 'on the case' with my PRS trcs...... Watch this space.... Peg holes, I have done both ways, opening out and sleeving down.... Its a right royal PItA to do, but worth it ..... Are you deifinatley sure there is no way you can get pegs the correct size?
20.
Affecting Little Britains' Andys' voice....'Yeah, I knorr.....'
Leans over close to wheelchair and says..... "are you sure then? You know you said that early Schecters are a surreal facsimilie of any other American copy bass that was losely based on Leo Fenders original concept......." Treat your assesment of it no different than any other 20yr old and go for it......! We want pics.....
21. I have a friend in Zadar, and spent some time there last year...... There are some very pretty ladies in the capital..... I was walking around with my tongue hanging out.....
22. + the one for 7 string..... If you've not been to thh gallery before you may get overloaded with basslicious loveliness.... Thats really good advice not to be too blinkered, you may find another that ticks all your boxes but wasnt what you went there to find..... Enjoy....
23. Rumbler... Welcome.... I love Zagreb..... Actually Croatia as a whole is pretty cool too! Do you enjoy it there?
24. Early Schecters will be US made and with jaw dropping QC and attention to detail, they are excellent VFM. If its helps, Mark Knopfler was so underwhelmed by the Fender Strat's build quality he had Schecter make him Strat copies.... I like 'em....
