I always do the same warm up - several major, minor and blues scales slowly at first then buliding up speed then when they are quick arpegio them back down - takes about 15 mins. Play the tracks I want to play and practise, then try to learn somthing new - a new scale or an old scale somewere else on the neck - or a relly cool riff I'v heard somewhere - then warm down playing a couple of slower simple numbers. Maybe a bit OCD buts just liek a sport practice session and I've played a lot more sports than music!

The Very Definition of "Optimistic"

I feel sorry for this chap if it is a genuine sale - he is quite deluded. It could be that he has been wound up by some 'mates' ...... -
Chris - This isn't brand new, otherwise you would be a shop and we all know that shops are not allowed to sell in this forum they have to become a sponsor first. It is of course secondhand but in 'as new' condition, I'm sure thats what you meant to put. Also your other basses need to have the amount that you'd like for them included in the post or it contravenes our selling rules.
1. And it's the anomaly between this thread and the current thread which prompted my observation. 2. All water under the bridge now though. 3. I'll revert to being a casual observer and leave you all in peace, so no need to organise a posse 4. p.s. Gingers sound the best bet to me......
1. How is this an anomoly to that thread......? no post above (or after for that matter ) your original post breaks any of these rules..... I wonder now what your motivation was for posting in the first place if not to 'make some point' or draw attention to yourself as some sort of self proclaimed Olive branch weilding missionary! Whilst we're here, I'll assure I dont need a posse. 4. You try and lecture us and drop that in at the end......? Funny ? I think not...! -
Another group piss-take with even a moderator chipping in...... Who should we pick on next..the bandy or the cross-eyed? This is the reason why I don't post here much
You have made 4 posts in 6 months membership - Do you really believe that we have to be that PC on here that we cannot point the finger at folks how put themselves up for ridicule.....? You clearly havent been in 'Off topic' have you? The ebay section was added to this forum by me to put the very good, the good, bad and the ugly to the test and discuss it. If someone selling a bass cant even be arsed to put accurate pictures or descriptions on an advert selling their bass - I'm sorry but they deserve to be 'ripped a bit' in here. Nothing above is offensive or abusive. -

Clean the strings after every use, and polish when they need it - otherwise leave alone.
I was actually looking for something to quote from the market place guidelines with regards to this earlier but I was surprised (due to previous threads) to see that there is actually nothing there that related to questioning the asking price...
I think this covers it adequately...... 4. If you have a concern with the authenticity/originality/provenance/description etc of an item for sale, do not comment on the seller's thread as these comments will be removed by a moderator. If you believe an item to be fraudulent then please PM a moderator and we will do our best to arbitrate - otherwise simply move along.

I love mine for playing drop D (which is kinda what they were designed for) which is a common tuning for rock and blues. I knda go with Faithless here in that going down further reuires a proper set up IMHO and surely it would be easier - more sensible just using a 5 string. Also the reorientation of fignering for dropD isnt that stressful to get around but would be a complete mind frick for anything lower, plus all the potential intonation and relief issues .....

Does exactly what it says on the tin...! Great comms - easy to sell to - Paid in cash with no hassles. No hesitation recommending as a buyer!
Best you start saving Bob... this is 2 pieces! Not yanking your chain but I've scrutinised this for the last 15 minutes under various lights and it is centre jointed 2 piece; you can trace various wood striations to see there are no further joints other than the centre one. So I own 1 of the only 3 in the UK... bet I still can't get a trade!
J, as far as I am aware the only Swampies were finished in vintage trans yellow as my two are, It was proabably a bit missleading of me saying that yours is Alder ONLY because they were 3 piece, I have a 2 piece alder bodied one with a curly maple top - I also have a 3 piece Alder (Rhinos old one) and a 2 piece painted Alder. Yours would be very unlikely to be a Swampy as its too early as I have the Prototype that was made late 2002 but listed as 2003 and as yours is from the production run of 02 it cant be Swampash. Irrespective of what it is - it is a magnificent bass and I would love to be able to afford it. If my rifles sell in the next few weeks I may still have this ...... -
Out of interest was this the one in the Bass Centre a few years ago, used to be Rhino Edwards (Status Quo's)?
No WH's isnt that one - I own that one (the ex Rhino Edwards one) and it was a dog when I got it. It isnt now! I would like to get hold of this one as I desperately love the Maple necked ones - Although I can clarify that WHs is in fact an Alder body as is clearly a three piece and identical to mine- The Swamp Ash bodies are 2 piece and very rare and I probably own the only 2 in the UK! If only I wasnt in the situation I find myself in I would have been biting WHs hands off for this. -
accoustic basses just wont keep with accoustic geetars as they dont have enough volume (physical space) so in order to keep up they need to be plugged in and then you are into the region of semi-accoustics or electro accoustics. I've been down this route and it was fairly dissapointing. I'd agree the Ibanez is good and so are the Ovations.

There will some serious big F fans along presently but in essence the main differences are QC MIJ source some parts from the far east ( no bad thing) and have Very Good QC. MIA keep all the best parts for themselves (naturally) but their QC is shonky at best all the way from cheapest to CS. This means try before you buy because it could be an absolute soul mate or shonky crap. MIM as above, most parts (lesser cuts of body blanks) are shipped from the US and assembled in Mex. QC not as good as Jap and parts not as good as Jap or US but sometimes there is an absolute peach amongst them. Highway series are normally very good MIA using good std US sourced parts. Finishes vary but designed to wear quickly so they get 'road worn' quicker. Hence the 'highway' name tag. I like the Highway series, proper US made but without the silly price tag. In fact they are cheap enough to get one and upgrade it - Try first tho.....

I thiink pushing it down to C might be beyond it. You will need a larger gauge than you are used to to get the tone. Model I cant tell you without a pic of your Squire. All 5 of my PRSs have them on now and great bits oif kit....
