1. Pair of UltraJazz 5s, selling as I don't do well with exposed poles. Bit of light muck on the pole tops but I'll do what I can to get it off. [s]£75[/s] £60 to your door.
2. I've had this bass for about 8 years during which time it's been my main bass and done hundreds of gigs. I'm playing my jazz more at the moment so thought I'd put some feelers out. It was made by the late Paul McNab (Paulman) from Huddersfield. Originally it was wired with the pickups straight to the jack so as not to mar the gorgeous flame with knobs; I needed more tonal options so Ged Green fitted the preamp. I'm planning on taking it for a setup in the next couple of weeks. It's 35" scale, Delano pickups, Schaller tuners and bridge with adjustable spacing, John East designed ACG EQ02-PT preamp (vol/pan stack, treble stack, bass stack, passive tone), ebony fingerboard. Most of the pictures I have are a couple of years old but they were taken with a better camera than I have access to now. Since those photos were taken I have replaced the broken tuner and some of the Paulman logo decal has worn away so I've added a new headstock shot. There are quite a few small varnish dings, especially on the back, but the worst damage came from a microphone falling off a crappy stand at a rehearsal studio and hitting the bottom edge last year so there's a new photo of that too. Tradewise I'm after fretted 5 strings only, I'll consider anything (especially if it has a maple neck with black block inlays). 3. I can highly recommend Geoff Chalmers in Leeds - http://geoffchalmers.com/
4. I tend to play with one but get an even sound with two (at least I think I do, going to be more critical next time I get the bass out). Oddly though I recently noticed that I've drifted to predominantly using my middle finger rather than index which I always used to use.
5. Super Synth and Behringer synth still looking for a new home.
6. I really like my Ibanez PD7. It was super cheap second hand and does a pretty wide range of noises, has a useful EQ and is good for clank with the attack switch.
7. I'm afraid I still need the freeze.
8. Sorry about the delay in replying. It's solid top, laminate sides and back.
9. My favourite Malmsteen video:

11. I'm very happy with my G30 and have been to the back (bar) of a 30m-ish marquee with it, gets pretty impossible to play anywhere too far from stage without in ears as the sound delay is huuuge. I use a Thomann wireless holder on my strap now as I dropped my transmitter lots of times, lost the clip and eventually smashed the battery clip and now have to wrap it in gaffer to hold it shut. Does the job though. The pedal board receiver is also great for my setup.
12. Bump.
13. That's insanely cheap. Someone with a spare £850 will get lucky there.
14. Oh yeah, that's quite an important thing to leave out, isn't it. To be honest I'm not entirely sure about the back so I'll give it a good check tonight and get back to you.
15. I'm selling my German flatback as I've just bought a new bass. I believe it to have been made in the 1940s. I've had it about 8 years; I got it from the Bradford based luthier Lily Bennett who rescued it from a school and gave it a full restoration (including removal of a very old piece of flapjack). While in the school it was clearly somewhat mistreated and is rather beaten up cosmetically as you can see in the photos. There are signs of a couple of old cracks on the back which don't move at all so will have been repaired properly by Lily. The neck is thinner than most so may suit players with smaller hands. In July last year I got to a lesson to find the neck had come off, likely due to it being in the car on a scorching day and maybe taking a knock. The repair was done by Kai Dase who also fitted a new ebony finger board, bridge, tailpeice and spike. All in all, due to the distressed/mojo loaded look of the bass you get a lot for your money. Anyone who knows Lily or Kai knows their work is top notch and Kai has said to insure the bass for £6000. I'm after £2500 which includes a good quality, well padded soft case. I fitted a new set of medium tension D'Addario Helicore Hybrids about six months ago. You can hear the bass on 'Dead Weight' and 'The Bone Orchard' by Gavin Davenport on Spotify. 16. This be gone. Boss SYB-5 in good condition, a few small cosmetic scratches but nothing major. I got it off a fellow Basschatter a few months ago but I need to reclaim some board space. Some big sounds to be had and a has a really cool filter sweep if you use it with an expression pedal which I'll miss, especially as I can't play Gangnam Style any more. £65 posted or you can collect it in Sheffield/somewhere else if it works out. Ta for looking.
17. Pete just bought my Fishman DI, jolly pleasant to deal with throughout and highly recommended. Cheers dude!
18. Just sold Paul a wah pedal, paid straight away, nice and friendly throughout, great basschatter. Cheers dude!
19. Hellbabe now gone, Radial Bigshot Mix back on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Radial-Bigshot-Mix-guitar-effects-true-bypass-loop-pedal-with-blend-/321130856900
20. Sorry, forgot to mention that. It's 34" scale, 17mm spacing at the bridge according to my trusty ruler.
21. I bought this on ebay a while ago but after receiving my custom fretless I can't justify keeping this too. It was made for the legend that is Scott Devine (who sold it on here a few years ago) and has both fretted and fretless necks. The fretless neck has a lined ebony board and is extended to get stupidly high, the fretted neck is rosewood and hits 26 frets on the G-A strings. Both necks are incredibly comfortable to play, I've particularly bonded with the fretless (best neck I've had my hands around) especially with the single bridge pickup and flatwound strings. The electronics are passive with volume, tone and a mute switch and the bass has a locking jack and Schaller dual design straplocks - I can include a set of the bits for the strap if you want. Not sure of the main body wood (can't find the original sale post on here to check) but it has a beautiful macassar ebony top which I'll definitely miss. It's also the lightest bass I own by a long way. My back will miss that. It comes with a Hiscox case and sets of both roundwound and flatwound strings, not sure of the brand but they have red windings. I'd like £750 posted, feel free to come and try it in Sheffield, any questions give me a shout. Cheers for looking.
