Guts are nice and simple, unscrew the back and the pcb pops out, then you can see the battery wires coming through next to the switch. I had to replace both of the sockets as I borrowed the nuts for something else so it might have come detached from the input while the sockets were loose.

The black wire from the battery on my odb-3 has detached itself and I can't see where it goes. If anyone who owns one has a minute could you pop it open and let me know? Cheers Tim

I'm off on tour tomorrow and so earlier today I tried to get a hard case for my Paulman 5 string but it turns out it won't fit in any of the three Gator or Hiscox cases available in my local shop. I also tried a Black Rat basic at PMT a while ago which didn't fit but the guy thought their other model (which was out of stock) might do the job but I haven't been able to get there to test one out. The neck of the bass is quite wide and doesn't fit in some neck pockets and the body is much deeper than the average bass which means either the lid won't shut or the neck is raised from the cushion and is vulnerable in the cases the neck does fit in. The body is also quite large and doesn't fit in another no brand case I have. All in all it's very awkward and I could really do with a hard case ASAP as my precious bass is going in the back of a van for a month! Anyone got any suggestions for an off the shelf one that might fit? Just found the SKB Bass Safe but can only see that on Gear4Music and DV247 with longish delivery times which suggests it's not in stock so no chance to try out. Cheers Tim

This is in the shop round the corner from my house. I saw it in there a few months ago but it's got a £650 tag on it.

I'm from Halifax and used to have lessons with Pete Laffan over towards Keighley, can't quite remember exactly where he lives. He was a great teacher, progressed loads while I was having lessons with him. Can't recommend him enough although it's a bit of a drive (which my parents did so it was fine! )

Victor Wooten's harmonicfest of Amazing Grace (until it goes mental), maybe do your own thing with it too. And River People by Weather Report could be a shout, simple through most of it but you have to keep it tight then breaks into the 16th note groove at the end.

We're out there quite a lot and have been for the last two and a bit years, the gorilla suit has only been out twice though and the rest of the band often busks without me as I can't make it that much any more.
