1. I can vouch for Shaggy being a top guy to deal with, I went round his house to buy my '79 Precision off him many moons ago Best of luck with the sale mate!
2.
Ask him to bring out a pedal to save several settings like the tech21 deluxe BDDI. That would make the vintage pedal perfect.
Yes. this. but a B3K version.
Excellent! Doug is a great guy and I would love to go down a visit his workshop, especially since they are all made in Finland again now
Oh, when did this happen, and how come?
3. I quite like the Fender curly cables, they are cheap though and probably wont last. The last cables that have impressed me are the Orange guitar cables, they seem really really well made and durable. Not the cheapest though. https://www.orangeamps.com/products/cables/guitar-cables/ I haven't had an OBBM cable yet, but do plan on getting a few smaller leads for my wireless from him soon.
4. I'm after a spare lightning adaptor for my line 6 Sonicport, and realised that in the box you get both a 30 pin adaptor and a lightning adaptor... Would anyone who uses their sonicport with an older iPad or iPhone like to do a swap so that they have a spare as well? Swap my extra 30 pin adaptor for your extra lightning adaptor? Cheers!
5. My go to back up that gets lugged about, currently strung with flats. Sunburst body, black scratchplate and rosewood board. Got a few knocks on the body. Pics to follow later hopefully. Pick up from Middlesbrough.
6. My Stingray, which was my main bass for about 12 years, has seemingly been relegated to retirement these days, since falling for my Precision, it has only been used when the P-bass was in for a set up. It's not that it's not amazing, it's not that I don't love it, I've just gone over to the Precision it would seem. It's staying with me as I wouldn't be able to replace the memories it carries, couldn't get another in the same colour again, and more importantly, probably wouldn't get a good enough price to make me want to sell.
7.
I would take this but I am getting my gt200mk1 sent back from America so I will have mine back again. GT200mk1's are the best bass amps of all time.
Do you prefer mk1 to mk2's then? I haven't had a chance to play with a mk2 yet...
8. The standard HS is what I've been using, and still am, until that deluxe turns up, and it's fat, beefy, dirty and no problem with low end. I just think the clean blend will really open up the options, whereas at the mo I just like to use it as my big sound...
9. As everyone knows I am pretty vocal in my love for this pedal, as can be seen here - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/246447-i-got-interviewed-by-gak-about-my-gear Well, as I had two of these pedals now, and had always (as can be read above) wanted a clean blend on this, I decided to flog one of my them to upgrade to the Hail Satan Deluxe that they have been building for a little while now... It hasn't gone far, as my guitarist wanted it since he tried it out ages ago It has a few extras - the all important clean blend, a buffer switch for clean signal boost, a switch to toggle between Green Russian or Creamy Dreamer types, a highs knob and top mounted input and outputs. Really looking forward to getting hold of this, has anyone else got one or tried one yet? Build in progress shot -
10. Where are you based? You're welcome to give my Jazz V a blast, as I think the B is awesome on it...
11.
If anyone knows of one, then let me know as I'd be interested in trying.
The Eventide Pitchfactor is amazing at it, but it's not a cheap pedal
12.
The line 6 wifi ones are a crystal clear, miles ahead of anything else IMO and I have tried a fair few out
This. So good I bought 2.
13. If possible have a play with one first, it doesn't sound that natural, but you may be happy with it... Wanna buy my practically unused one?
14. Yep, is the short answer. Some pedals aren't good enough to do it if you are wanting a natural sound though... The Eventide Pitchfactor I use does this fantastically, I use it to go down to C, and love it. The Mooer Pitchbox I have does it as well, but you can really hear the difference between the quality of the two!
15. Price drop to £350 as have other cabs I'm after...
16. I feel very lucky to be one of the people who have never had any reliability issues with the PF500!
17. I can't say that I would ever even consider paying the prices for a CS Fender, if I was dropping that sort of money there are far more exciting basses in my opinion! I own a 2010 American Jazz Deluxe V and its gorgeous, and also a '79 Precision that I love. I don't think you can make such a sweeping generalisation as all Fenders after a certain year suck... bit silly that.
18. I think cutting back on models and just streamlining the range would be a very good idea, but as long as they don't follow Gibson and slap on a 30% price increase as well!
19. I love my '79 Precision, that has also had a change of bridge (to a Badass) and a Seymour Duncan SPB1, so if its anything like that, this might be a keeper, even for you Congrats!
