1. Just got one in my precision, only had one practice and one gig, but liking it so far!
2. 1600 watts, 4500 peak! What cabs are you using, and are you not worried?!? Haha, this thread needs pics and a demo vid!
3. Now I really didn't expect to put this up for sale any time, as it is genuinely the best sounding preamp I have ever owned, I even had my Matamp GT200 modified at Matamp to allow me to use the GT200 as a valve poweramp, and put the Verellen Meatsmoke pre through it... I just could probably use the money elsewhere at the mo... Gorgeous tone, and the boost channel is unreal! It just makes me want the full Meatsmoke head. This could be, and likely will be, withdrawn at any time. I'm after £500 for this, has spent all its days on a pedalboard so is in perfect condition, only visibly used cos there is velcro on the bottom. If you ordered one new from Ben, there would be the wait time, plus once you've added in shipping and customs, you are looking at £620 plus to your door at the moment.
4. I like big stages from a performance point of view, and also from a space and setup point of view, but I hate them when the sound isn't good, as you are so spread out, if the sound guy and monitor mix aren't bob on, you have a really strange sound to fight with... One of the bigger stages we have played, the sound was really bad onstage, and it kind of spoilt it for us. Looked cool, and loads of room to move, but such a weird onstage sound, just bad monitor mixing I think medium stages are the way to go
5. So far Concrete cows is a winner Just making sure everyone knows, I am in the UK anyway, so will be doing plenty of queueing/moaning etc
6.
Wooks What may help you, is if you tell us whereabouts on the uk ( and a round what time of year) you intend to be in. Sorry to sound odd, but it may narrow things down etc. Have a bump on the thread any way
May tour is gonna be Middlesbrough, Manchester, Norwich, Cardiff, Brighton and London, in that order. So anywhere in or around those places is cool Cheers. June is TBC.
7. So we a have a couple of tours coming up in May and June, and I am looking for things to do around the UK, just little short stops whilst travelling, things to see, places to visit etc. Where would anyone recommend stopping/visiting/seeing on our way past if we go anywhere near? Strange/weird/unique/gear orientated things all preferred Cheers.
8. Bought a diago powerstation off Neil, top bloke, great comms, answered any questions I had. Spot on, cheers!
9. Anyone else had much of a play with these yet? Sibob, any updates on how yours is treating you, or have I missed a seperate thread? One of these is really starting to work its way onto my want list, as I want as close to an OC2 but with more options if possible, and love Toms work.
10. Wow, I've wanted one of these for so long! Gorgeous bass, but unfortunately I have no money best of luck with the sale, I'll be really jealous of whoever gets it!
11.
I didn't !!
Ha, apologies Count Bassy, I must have just added you in with my sweeping generalisation from the general feeling I was getting from the thread.
12. Good stuff! Is there an online link to listen?
13.
Nate Mendel and his tech spent a week with every bass rig they could get hold of a few weeks before Christmas to test and naturally we were a little concerned, thankfully for us he still preferred his Ashdown set up at the end of it so it starts to grate a little when people start saying things like 'he only uses the gear because he's endorsed' as it is totally untrue.
Honest question here mate, and I have no beef with Ashdown, they arent for me, but at the same time, my gear isn't for everyone... I've only seen Nate Mendel using a Verellen Meatsmoke head on an Ampeg cab these days, and very recently, and is quoted as saying - "I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time. It’s so nice to be able to plug in your amp and know that it will be loud and clear, and that I don’t have to struggle with an amp that is…struggling" http://www.verellenamplifiers.com/verellennewsite/customers-2/ So does that mean he is talking about Ashdown gear? The B-Social for me, as everyone else has said, is overpriced, but I am very impressed with the idea if it performs well, and if you are at all interested in genuine feedback, which I am sure you are or else you wouldn't have 80+ posts on a bass forum, I wouldn't buy it for the price, but also the aesthetics and design, again, it's a personal thing, but I can't stand the look of Ashdown gear no matter how it sounds. I genuinely hope it sells well and we all eat our hat, as if you progress this side of the bass gear world, hopefully more products will arrive, and we will have more choice.
14.
That has to be the best named effect ever!
Can you guess which one it is on my small board?
15. If you wanna thicken it up I would recommend the Abominable Electronics Hail Satan, it's a muff clone with mods that sounds amazing on bass, and if you want even thicker, pop an OC2 in there (That's what I do!)
16. PM coming about the powerstation. Cheers!
17. Cheers all I had to brag, I'm chuffed, my 16 year old self would have loved to be in there, I didn't expect 35 year old me to be as happy haha. It's a bit colorful that cover though!
18. Sorry for the shameless self promotion, but I'm pretty happy about it. Issue #197 out on the 4th Feb has our track on the cover CD and a 7/10 review of our EP in it. So thats nice http://www.rocksound.tv/news/read/forget-everything-youve-ever-known-ronnie-radke-returns-in-rs197
19. Shipping not included mate, as I doubt it's be cheap I can drop off if gigging near to anyone though!
20. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
21. It all depends what bridge you are going from and to... My old SG bass was like a brand new totally different, far better bass once it had a hipshot bridge on, but that's cos the three point bridges that come as standard are appalling!
