Hi OK, this is a great combo - the LM2 head in a small 12" combo chassis. It provides 300w to the internal speaker, and 500w when paired with another 8ohm cab, which is how I have generally used it. I bought it for rehearsals, and whilst it will happily hold its own in a full gig scenario, I havnce a change back to head plus 2 cabs. So, Iam looking to trade for littlemark2 or f1 and a markbass cab - ideally a 4*10, 8 ohm. anyone? Chris

Definitely no to a 121P?
Bump Still looking! Ideally still want a CMD 121H but will consider a CMD 102P combo as well. (Don't want the Mini 121P - for 2 reasons. I thought it sounded a little boxy compared to the 121H... and I hate top mount controls as they get dirty much quicker. And the kids drop stuff in the jack sockets etc!!)
I am thinking about changing all my gear over. Currently we use 2 subs and 2 tops for FOH - (custom built with Rcf and JBL drivers - very good if a little tatty, andhuge), powered by QSC RMX 2450 amps, and 4 thoman monitors powered by some crest or other. But is is all massive and the amp rack is as heavy as me with crossover and effects in it. Desk is an Allen and Heath GL 2400 24 channel. LExicon effects rack unit. However, I am fed up with the size and weight of it, so am toying with changing the desk for a Allen and Heath Mixwizard 16:2, which is just about big enough, effects in it, and smaller. And then running an all active FOH system - and would love some EV SBa760 subs with some 3x360a tops. But this is expensive, so might go for MAckie SRM450 aabd SW1501s, which could be added to later. Trouble is, no one seems to be that keen on Mackie stuff on the web, so it is nice to read the above poster singin its praises. Any other experiences?

TRADED PENDING COMPLETION UPDATED Feb 2011 OK, resurrecting an old thread. This bass is still with me, but I almost exclusively play drums these days and could do with the funds.... I know this has been up here a few times, and I almost traded it at one point, but then told myself to never get rid of it. However, Here we are again. Looking for £850. Bass is in Nottingham, any trial welcome etc Or trade for a 4 string P or J bass with cash adjustment to me. Thanks Chris

Sansamp BDDI straight into a power amp
nottswarwick replied to nottswarwick's topic in Amps and Cabs
I just looked at the manual - it is fine I reckon, and on Talkbas it is mentioned alot. Might give it a whirl and pick up a nice beefy 4*10. Anyone got one....a trip to "for sale" beckons -
Right.. I love my Markbass minicmd 12 p combo. But I am doing some gigs where it is not really loud enough - one of my bands, the PA does all the work, and in another I have to blast out some proper stage volume, and it struggles - well, I blew the tweeter, so I guess that tells the tale. Now, the main sound I am using is all sansamp, with the MB head section all totally flat. I go straight into an EBS multicomp (great), and from that into a Sansamp BDDI. This basically gives me my sound - big, fat, ballsy, and cutting when necessary (hence the tweeter incident lol). Now, I see that folk use the RBI (bigger rackmount version of BDDI plus a mid I think?) and a power amp, into cab of choice. But has anyone or does anyone use the BDDI pedal version as their preamp, and run straight into a power amp. I have a QSC RMX 1450 lying around for the purpose. So, anyone any thoughts or direct experice of this? If it works, all I need to do is get a nice big cab (well, a 4 or 2 ohm 4*10), and I am away. Cheers Chris

Stringray Bass Pot (3 Band EQ)
nottswarwick replied to nottswarwick's topic in Repairs and Technical
I thinkit is a bit more serious, as the above is not improving things. I reckon the pot needs replacing, but can I just replace the bass pot, or do I need to replace the whole pre? Forgive me if this is a really stoopid question? -

Hi Thanks for looking. I have some free slots for some pupils. I have been teaching bass and guitar since about 1992. Have a look at www.chrispidgeon.co.uk to find out a bit more about me, and give me shout if you are intersted. Thanks again. Chris Pidgeon
