2. NBD: I replaced the SG Std. Walnut I sold. This is really a nice one. The "Electric Lady" is back.
3. She looks, and plays like a dream.
4. Gibson SG Spl. is light, and not to expensive. It also comes with a hardshell case.
5. I like the sound of Badge, by Cream with a fretless strung with Nylons.
6. The 200 is pretty loud @ 140 watts. When an 8 ohm cab is plugged in with it, it's a 200 watt amp @ 4 ohms. As a single 15" cab @ 200 watts it has good volume.
7. Congrats on your Rumble 100. A good Combo Amp. I'm liking my Rumble 200 a lot. I have a Markbass NY121 to run with it if I want, or need to. The new Rumbles are pretty ding dang good.
8. I'm wondering if there is any QC myself. The frets on the SG Spl. Bass I had were terrible. I'd go with a Fender Standard Jazz, or Precision if I was somewhat locked into that price range. I know the Fender Standard doesn't come with a case, but decent frets are more important to me than a case.
9. The Fender Rumble 500 Combo is good. It's 350 watts @ 8 ohms. With an 8 ohm extension cab, it's 500 watts @ 4 ohms. The third generation of Rumbles are very well made, also. Real wood cabs that are light enough, without the extra weight the MDF material the first, and second generation Rumbles were made of. Reasonably priced as well with Eminence Speakers too.
10. I went with a 200 in place of the 100, because I have a Markbass NY121 cab. I can hook up the NY121 through the 200. The 12" sounds great with the 15", and it brings the 200 combo to 200 watts @ 4 ohms. I've got a Rumble 500 head to use through the NY121 also. The numbers match up great between the head, and cab too. The 500 head with the 8 ohm cab does 350 watts, 50 watts higher than if it were a Markbass Mini CMD 121P combo, with the Combo Head ll. The Combo Head ll is the same head as the Little Mark lll, just made to fit into the combo's cab. The Little Mark lll head is 300 watts @ 8 ohms, 500 watts @ 4 ohms. Close to the Rumble 500 head.
11.
Everydays a NBD if your Mr Gsgbass!
It appears that way, I know. A White Pearl PG is on it. I edited the early photos.
12.
Got to love a friend with large fingers
One nice thing, he paid me what I paid for it. I could have sold it to another player, and taken a loss.
13.
I love that colour.
Thanks, it's a nice metallic finish. It has a parchment PG, I may do a Tort PG, maybe. I don't know.
14.
The spending spree continues A worthy addition.
The spending spree was financially backed by selling the Gibson SG Spl. I tried to get used to the higher rough fretts. Way to high, and rough. A friend with larger fingers didn't mind it, and was going to order an SG Spl. It worked out ok.
15. I got this Am. Std. Precision in on Thursday. I don't have a name picked for her yet either. But, the Nylon strings are on, the PG protective film, and pup tape has been removed. The Jade Pearl with the Maple Board iced it for me. 16.
I grabbed the 500 version today, had a gift card for the store so didn't have to add much from my own pocket It's pretty light and an easy one handed lift. Got a small gig /party next Friday I'll take it along and see if it copes, there is always the ext out but that defeats the idea of having a combo lol.
I agree with you too about the ext out on the combo. I used to do the external cab from the combo myself. I just like one amp for going mobile if needed anymore. I also really don't like having to run a external cab from a combo, to get the full wattage, and power from a combo as well.
17. I like using 10's, and 12's instead of 15's anymore. I just play at home now, or studio work. Both playing isn't using high enough volumes to get a 15" to move enough air to get a sound I prefer. A good 15" does sound nice at higher volumes though.
18. They have an optional foot switch for it also.
19. Fender has a way of making their competition disappear, after they have used what they could from the other's designs.
20. It sounds to me, better than the first, and second generation Rumbles. It's also a wood cab, and weighs 22 pounds.
21. The Rumbles are getting a lot better.
22. On the outset, the sound is very clear, with a pounding punch. My personal preference, I'm using the Gain @ about 7, Bass @ about 8, Low Mid @ about 4-5, High Mid @ 3, Treble @2. Master @ about 7. Then the rest of the settings onboard the Axe. The Precision has been the only one I've had a chance to run through it so far. The Overdrive is an enormous jump in power, about double the settings when on. I haven't gotten into the Bright, Contour, or Vintage settings yet. So far, from what I've seen, and heard from this Rumble 100, it's a top quality Fender amp. The 3rd generation Rumble amps do appear to be the best of the 3 generations of the Fender Rumble Series bass amps.
23.
My new limelight!
Congrats on the new Axe. Looking good.
