1. I spent more than I was prepared to, but I went with the TC Electronic RH450 head, with the TC E BC410 cab. I thought the 410's had a bit better clarity at lower volumes, and cranked rather well at higher volumes.
2. Ironically, I was able to play through a TC Electronic RH450 / BC410 that blew me away. The RH450 powering a TC Electronic sound great. I chose to go with the TC E. over the Markbass.
3. Alder, and Maple. Old habits die hard.
4.
I`ve been looking at the RH450 recently, but played a gig with my trusty Markbass setup combined with my Tech21 VT DI and have decided my quest for the perfect tone is just about at an end. Which is probably the sound I would dial in with the RH450 if I`m honest .
I used the RH450 in the past, and had no problems with it. They work well.
5.
That's super... the pearl looks stunning... don't listen to the torters!
Thanks bh2. The Tort is a nice looking PG, but the White Pearl is a bit different.
6.
Great bass, definitely on a roll there
Hey Lozz. I've been threatening myself to do a TC Electronic RH450 head / BC410 cab. I played through one the other night. It blew me away. I'm waiting for mine to show up tomorrow.
7.
the wood grain certainly isn't unspectacular. nice bass.
The grain in the head runs very similar to the grain on my Jazz. It really got my attention. Fender heads, Precision, Fretless Jazz, and Fretted Jazz.
8. The Tort PG looked pretty ding dang good. Very close to my liking of darker color, and a bit less gold flakes in it, I just like the Olympic White with a lighter PG.
You're on a bit of a roll lately. Very nice.
Thanks I like it. I have been turning over basses lately. The only one that's been locked in, my Fretless Jazz.
9. I heard some pretty negative comments on the GK MB115-ll Combo. Power switches jamming, etc. He was more agreeable to the TC E 250. I may have to check out the TC E more.
10. I couldn't pass up this Precision. The wood grain on the head isn't spectacular, but I just like it. Oh yeah, it plays super too.
11.
Another case of an old friend returning home. Not the best pic, but am so glad she`s back.
Good to see your old friend is back. I've done that several times also.
12. I've used both, and I found for myself, the TC had a thinner sound to it, where the Markbass had a fuller rich tone to it. Markbass cut through the leads, and drums great. And MB is a true wattage, not just a ratted wattage.
13. The newer Fender Standard Series basses, (MIM), have definitely improved quality control, sound, and a lot better playability than previous Standard Series. For a somewhat reasonable price, they are a good, solid, well made bass.
14. Anyone using a GK MB115-II 200W Combo? I'm contemplating getting one for that 15" sound. I would appreciate any pros, or cons. Thanks in advance folks.
15. Just wondering, how many 4003 players with the Classic pull tone knob onboard their 4003, use the Classic setting. I've played with it a bit, but never really cared for the sound much. Anyone use theirs?
16.
I've bought some nylons but I haven't made my mind up to change as I like the bright sounds with the nickels it came with a few weeks back. I do love an upright sound though.
I know what you mean. I used the D'Addario Chrome Flats before going to the Nylons. The longer I play Nylons, the more I like them. I even like them on a Rickenbacker 4003. With Nylons, a power thump sounds very bassi.
17. Congrats on the new Orange. It looks great. See if you can get the downstairs dude to play guitar.
18. I guess it depends on how you like the Tort to look. I like the Tort to be more of a darker brown color, less reddish tones, with less gold showing in it. The Tort on my Jazz caught my eye to this particular one.
19. Get a fretless, and string it with Nylons. The sounds are great. It has a nice flat string sound, and depending on the settings, and the fretless, you can get a smooth upright sound.

21. Of the 4003's I've had, I like this one the most.
22. My three that I like the looks of, sound, and playability.
23.
this does nothing for my "GAS" THANKS really want one now
More GAS, you're welcome.
