1. Yes - they have a truss rod !
 2.
seen them in action at oxford last saturday, the best bass sound since jaydee end of, theres no two ways about it, punchy clear...everything i like, glad im going to be hearing it again in bristol this sunday yay!!! a very happy marcus
Nice one m8! I'm off to see them next week in Cambridge! The new bass seems to be `bigger' sounds-wise, due perhaps to the size of the instrument; its the widest Status yet! Rob and the guys are having to have some new cases made to fit the wider body!
 3.
Glad you liked it Nick! Will bring the Warwick next time.. u'll love it!
Oh! Yes please!!!
 4. Allo Paul! Great to meet you yesterday! That Lakland is the business - lovely bass! See you soon! Nick
 5. Went down to do some tuition at The Bass Merchant yesterday (Hi Darren!) and took a flying visit to see the new Kingbasses! Very very tasty - the pics don't really do them justice - very comfortable to play and of course, the classic Status feel and tone! The body is very wide but very slim in depth! Rob and Dawn were working at home so Jerry was most kind to let me in to have a gander! Cheers! Nick
 6.
i'm EBS all the way!! i was asked to demo Markbass for a local music shop recently, but just did'nt like it. james.
I was an EBS die-hard, then I found MB and it was love - if they (EBS) had introduced the neo stuff two years earlier I'd probably still be using EBS... superb equipment!
 7. Nice `flange' of Statii there James! Purple drapes - good colour choice, very calming! Was I dreaming this or do you use Markbass now?
 8.
WHAT? Pam made you a cup of tea! How many years Dave and I'm struggling to recall a cuppa... ever.
...I got two coffees and a lovely plate full of cheese and crackers!!!
 9.
Yeah - opinion is pretty divided with Trace in my experience. some find them really unreliable, some have no problems whatsoever. Imo, it all comes down to the era of the amp, the 80's being the 'golden age' of TE stock. That's why i'm interested in opinions of this MkIII AH250 as it was was probably manufactured in the 70's, and I have no info on TE amps from this time...... I'm specifically interested in the second-hand cost of one of these units - I know a MkV AH250 will easily fetch £300 if in good condition, but i'm not so sure about the MkIII.
I'm not a true expert on Trace (did have a Mk V stack whilst I was still at school - prezzie from family for doing well in me exams - never had pocket money as a kid you see!) but the very first Trace rigs appeared around about 1980 - founded originally at Soundwave in Romford. I'd hazard a guess that the MkIII would have been made around '83 ish! I still hanker after a really old one - just to have one in the studio for those late night `Level 42' moments! Rob Green at Status has one (very old 4 x 10 combo) in his assembly room - sounds incredible!
 10. Mmmm! Very tasty! 4000 - I take it you have a pickup blend control on there as there's no rotary click jobbie! Love the contrasting colours; espec the purpleheart stringers against the maple!
 11. Personally, I'd wait a couple of months, see what turns up on Ebay - I think you may see a lot of people selling some great gear at keen prices etc. I've got to sort my brakes out on my car tomorrow - there goes me wad!
 12.
"I do not want to continue on an exclusive piece so to speak, each of such a fender acquire wants to know what is meant here." Ever seen the Monty Python classic phoney-translation-book scene? "My hovercraft is full of eels"
`I weell not buy zis record eet is scretched!'
 13.
Says the man with a million basses.
funny you should say that...I'm down to me last 4 million quid!
 14.
Nick, if you stop eating the kebabs your death may be delayed somewhat. But then again, I can't talk!!! Rich.
Heheh!!! Correct!
 15.
Meh - bring back the all-graphite Series 3000.
you mean the 2000!
 16.
LOL! It's a headed version of the bendwell. Designed for vibrato effects. I do like the sausage roll suggestion, though! Rich.
... gotta be a post-gig Doner in naan bread - would slip in there quite nicely. In fact, I got hold of a Doner Card today, as I'd like someone to help themselves to my kebab after my death...!
 17.
Wise words as usual CK, you old sage you.....
Actually, the very first Jaydee bass was designed by a bassist called Richard Ford (who must have been an Alembic fan!), who played in a Birmingham band called `Muscles'....the story goes that John Diggins had not seen any Alembic basses up till then (1977/78) and subsequently changed the Supernatural design so that it was not a direct copy!
 18.
Slightly different feedback this time, Mike depped for me on a freebie gig last week and everyone in my band has raved about how good he is, how nice he is and generally what a top bloke he is. I'd add to that by saying Mike has been brilliant with a potential lemon of a gig (still not had any feedback about the gig itself, just about Mike's playing and the LEDs on his bass ) so big thanks and big praise. Hope the gig wasn't terrible for you Mike and thanks again
Mike still has my pantyhose/leotard combination so if you are reading this Mike, I need them back!!! Mike is a true gent!
 19.
Looks verrrrry nice Headstock under the bendwell looks scarily thin, but I'm sure Rob knows what he's doing. Can't spot the ramp in the pictures ... maybe I'm expecting the wrong thing. Are they referring to that extra bit of fingerboard with no frets ? Andy
The `ramp' refers to the sloping away of the end of the fingerboard, not as per the `Willis' ramp that sits twixt the p/ups! Mark's old Jaydee's featured such rampage!
 20. Might be wrong but recall a Bass Centre ad many years ago with what looked like a Series II Arpege in a V format...!
 21.
Still up for grabs Bump
Allo mate! might have a buyer for you - will pm you asap! Cheers! Nick
 22. We are of course, verging on the `end times' - this is all happening for a reason, worldwide financial collapse in order to make way for a new world order, one world government, single currency (Amero!) blah de blah! Don't forget, I told ya first! Hold very tight girls, its gonna be a fast ride!
 23. ..sorry. I was just having a larf - I'm not that wealthy! But I love that Fodera!
 24.
Travelled up to Whitley Bay to buy Dave's Cairnes Stingray. Fantastic bass (can't get over just how nice the neck is) and a top bloke to deal with. Unfortunately the trip may just have kindled my interest in a Vigier after seeing Dave's in the flesh! Cheers Dave! Oh and his other half makes a great cuppa too.
Tis a lovely bass and the Vigier is superb (bought it from a well known nut)! Dave is a true gent!
 25. ...tis me! I'm a quarter-Geordie and have a `bowlt hole' in Perkinsville...!
