1.
Hi, Birmingham based professional bass player available for short-notice dep gigs of all kinds. Paid work only please. I'll learn your music quickly, efficiently and be a pleasure to work with and an asset to your gig. Please get in touch if I can be of any assistance. Steve
Me too! Based in Peterborough tho!
2. Where did the string break??? I'm using 35 gauge Elites these days - got an endorsement with 'em! Being an old bastard means my arthritic symptoms are starting to cause issues - lighter strings are better for me now - just crank the rig up a little bit more.
3. Ah! Fosk - our very own Holmes! Of course, tall Andy Timings - that would tie in with the markbass amp! He's disappeared off of Pnet! Spooky eh?!
4. Lovely bass - great colour. Best regards! Nick
5. Not at all m8 - I was stood near the desk at the beer fest when your string went - saw it flop - felt for you!
6. Hi Geoff! Welcome! Nick (Peterborough's nuttiest bass nut!)
7. Kev! Don't do it - thats a one off bass there mate! Nick (see you soon)
8. ..hope you took a spare bass!
9. Very nice!!!
10. Nice one - I'd got me 'eart set on that - ! Still, there we are! Mike wouldn't accept my offer of £1100 four days ago! Hehehe! Must be the crunch!
11. ...I'd give ya £260 for it!!!
12.
Its my understanding that noone can sell title to goods that they do not legally own. So if you purchase something from CC, and its later discovered to be stolen, I guess the person possessing the goods at the time of recovery is the one that loses out unless by agreement with the insurance company (witness the deal struck over Mark Kings stolen Empathy Matrix 001).
I actually owned that bass after it was recovered by the relevant authorities and was placed up for sale in Electromusic in Doncaster. I'm not fully aware of the deal but was told by the shop that MK had been made aware of the situation and was happy for the bass to be sold. Intrigued to know more Steve...
13.
bit of a 'poor mans' deep impact is the impression i get from various reviews and sound bytes, more practical but way larger although never tried one myself. id probably say £150 is its max value, tbh im quite suprised it went for that much in the current climate, last couple iv seen have gone for around £120 iirc EDIT last one on ebay was in the US for £89...
Thanks for your expert advice there Kev.
14.
My tutor just sold his back to the guy he bought it from, for a stupidly low amount of money. It was a total pain to play, though ...
I've got one, a 450-B - it sounds fantastic but will not stay in tune, due to the ally neck. Still, a classic bass from when I was young!

16. ...played on an aluminium-necked Kramer bass!
17.
What sort of damage did the cider spillage do ? Does it still work at all ? I'm thinking it might be recoverable.
It works but cuts out now and again - got pretty drowned that nite!
18.
Anyone got an idea how much it would cost or if it is indeed possible to defret a graphite neck?
Give Rob Green a call on 01206 868150
19.
?Korg G5 just to be clear this isn't mine - although I have one and will likely sell soon. I notice the seller says he has hung up his bass for good - is that possible
Let me know if/when you want to sell - I've got one already but it had a pint of cider one night at a pub gig!
20.
That makes two of us Kev. I had a look at the brochures over on Statii.com and it simply says "pick-up balance, master volume and tone control" The bass is still available by the way
..for tone control, read treble. I've owned two of these basses!
21. Very good value for money - not my particular cup of Darjeeling!
22. The seller is local to me so being a big nasty looking bastard (and of course, King Collector!), I will try and find out more!
23.
Blige! Reverb's just sent me some spam saying they have 3 band versions of this for £749 new! I know the two band and three band are quite different but that means this should go for about £400? Bargain!.
In good condition, for a s/h 3 band, I'd personally use the old `two thirds' pricing method - approx £499 - so you are correct to say around £400 ish!
24. ...its an active treble control! Not a sweep or owt like that!
