1. yep, thinking the same thing, nearly a 10 hour round trip from me. pity, i really like them. good luck mate
2. Actually, just thought..would a courier be an option? Cheers
3. ok mate, too far from me, thanks for getting back
4. Whereabouts are you? Cheers
5. i tried this and everything was as tight as could be. i have spoken to the service people and they reckon that it is just knackered but it may, just may, be possible to rebuild it. its seems such a long shot and possibly expensive that i thought imight salvage one from another amp. thank you for your thoughts
6. i can come over about 4ish. pm me your addy, cheers, mark
7. i just pm'd you. not sure if it went asmy ipad wont show the page properly. let me know and iwill re send
8. any chance of coming to have a look on sunday (27th)?
9. cheers, just waiting for quote on a repair, if its too much ( repair, that is) i will def be interested. please bear with me. if you sell before then, thats tough luck on me. will be in touch either way. thanks again, mark
10. hi, do you still have this and how much? might be what i am looking for, cheers, mark
11. hi mark, thanks for getting back, yes, they have said they can take a look and give me a quote if it is possible to repair, but it wont be cheap. add to this the postage of such a heavy piece of kit and it al starts to add up! i thought it may be more realistic to findan old one and salvage the transformer and keep the rest for spares. alternatively, just keep the cabsection and get a different amphead altogether. decisions, decisions
12. i am throwing this one out there in the hope that someone my have or know where i can get a trace elliot gp11 410 combo transformer. mine fell out of the back of the van! still works but with an intolerable buzzing. i believe each transformer was made specifically for each model which makes it even harder to find! there are hand written numbers on it which read 50-39-0-39-50 if anyone has any ideas/thoughts on tracking one down i would greatly appreciate it. i know there is an option to repair it, but i cannot throw too much money at it on spec just to find i could have bought a (quality) brand new amp. thank you in anticipation
13. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MEWAX:VRI similar story on this one, keeps being re-listed from 2 different countries. surprised that no bids, it's a lovely bass at a good price.
14. wow, looks great! yeah, definitely going to do it up. i think i will look into alternative necks too, just need to look into the costing a bit more. and like you say, i have the advantage of owning it already. great finish on yours dave and thanks for taking the time to post the pics. cheers, mark
