3. Not bad fella!!!! Howeva! The collection is still missing that `extra pizzaz' that could of course be supplied via a very tasty 'Ray in a natural finish with a neck by Status....!!!! Hehehe!!!! Happy New Year mate - cracking bass! Bless her heart! Nick XXX
 4.
What a tune. Love that song, and the album! Nice bass Mark has there, a Matrix Empathy model! Had a great Christmas day slapping away on my Matrix and playing along with a few Killers tunes!
That actual bass now resides in Paris with Morgan Rousell! I had the four string version.
 5. TO ALL FELLOW LOW ENDERS! LETS HAVE A BASSMUNGUS 2009!!!! Best Regards! Nick

 9. Oh dear! GAS attack on its way... Would like to see a face on shot of the body!
 10.
Absolutely. I've played several GBs and one W&T and I would just say they are different, and different people will prefer them. I liked them both for different reasons, although possibly slightly preferred the feel of the W&T personally. Tests like this should be taken with a pinch of salt in terms of which bass is actually best for you.
Spot on! Fully agree! (nice bass tho Russ!)
 11. Superb instrument! I've got the five string version, finished in a lovely raspberry red!
 12. Allo! Sold one of my Alembics recently so the collection went down to 56 basses and 14 guitars - however, in order to cure the depression caused by the sale, went out and bought a very tasty Squier Classic Vibe `50's Precision and my old pink Jaydee GA24 (sold to a mate some years ago). Merry Christmas!! Nick (pantoing!)
 13.
But you know you want one, don't you. Go on! :brow: Why stop at 6 or 7 basses? I have 9 and no intention of stopping there. More Statii please.
Don't stop! (he says!) Nick
 14. Yum!! (x6!) That five string headless Status is perhaps one of the best 5's I've ever played - string tension is perfect! Cheers! Nick
 15. Having recently met Steve at Music Live, I can indeed vouch that he is a very tasty player - bit like meself!! Seriously, he is a great bloke! Cheers! Nick
 16.
Ahhh TM - he used to be a Cort endorsee too you know... Did any of you try a Cort bass.guitar at all? The Artisan series bases are lovely! N
Hi Nate! I know Mark (Hedge) very well - he has indeed shown me a few Corts and they are excellent! Speaking on behalf of Darren and Chris at The Bass Merchant - for all the doom and gloom being borne out here, we had a very successful show with a good run of sales, including two Overwaters and three Warwicks, plus an Ibanez, a couple of amp heads and many peripheral accessories. Many bass players visited the stand and we all feel that the show has done the business a great deal of good in terms of exposure. Next year will I'm sure be different and given the currrent fiscal climate, I think we did pretty well given the size of the stand. Nuff said! Nick
 17. I had #38 - heap of sh*te!!!! Stank of play doh!!!
 18.
In which case I don't understand why Mark isn't playing T-basses...he has played jazzes and jazz shaped Goodfellows.
Good point - however, having spoken to Rob about this some years ago, Mark felt the need (back in 2000) to get involved in actually designing a bass from the `ground up' (as opposed to using tried and tested standard models) - hence the original Kingbass and now, 7 years later, he has had itchy fingers, hence the MK-II
 19.
I think the good Doctor was going through the Mark Bass rig.
That is correct Steve. The bass was put through a Little Mark II head, two rear ported Mark cabs (4 x 10 and 1 x 15) - eq set flat, VLE in off position, VPF at 2 o'clock. The bass does mimic a Jazz bass (on steroids!) in many ways and given that the guy filmed it on a phone, and that there was a lot of background noise, it still sounds pretty good!
Hmmm. What were the eq settings and rig? It sounds a little more open in the lower mids and a little more lo-fi than other youtube recordings of the KB Mk 1. In some ways it reminds me of a T-bass.
Funny you mention the T-Bass - part of the reason Rob decided to put J style p/ups on the MK-II was because Mark loves the sound of his own T-Bass. I think the bass really stands up as an all-rounder, not just as a slap/pull instrument (obviously it scores highly in that dept!) - the long scale neck works wonders with the 16.5mm spacing!
 20. Here's an old git demoing the new Status Kingbass - he's not bad for a baldie! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qqTy17MfBgc Hehe!
 21. Here it is at the show... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qqTy17MfBgc Oh dear - need new toupee! I should'nt say this but the tone through the Markbass rig is awesome!
 22. Nice Ray Dave!!! Collection is looking good! I've just got back from Music Live and have now decided that I want at least one brand new Vigier and a Kingbass MkII! Plus I've developed a love of Overwater, following demoing them for The Bass Merchant! Cheers! Nick O
 23.
Im really interested in this - I need a new bass to replace my old honer jack thats really no longer working - i'm a true bedrrom player but do like slapping - is this a true Statsu - I once played a friends graphite status about 20 years ago - and never forgot just how funky it soudned when slapped...i have been lloking for a status headless but cant find anyhting that is remotely affordable - so this sounds perfect for me.....can anyone advise please thanks Alex
This is a very fine bass and a true professional level Status instrument - put it this way, if I did not have to pay this months mortgage I'd buy it tomorrow!!! Nick
 24. Dave! Do NOT sell that bass!!! Waaaa! Cheers mate! Nick
 25.
I've received a question on this and not being too knowledgeable about Status guitars I'm seeking the answer from the experts on here. I'm pretty sure the Matrix has a graphite neck - can someone please confirm this?
Absolutely mate! The bass is in fact a Series I Matrix - I've owned 3 of them and currently have one in a five string format! Nick
