To the top! -
Just to say that Dave bought this incredible Status bass from me late last year and I can categorically state that the condition is excellent. It plays itself and has the classic Status sound. I would buy it back but alack, dosh is not with me right now! Buy with complete confidence! Nick (if you look really closely at my avatar `fence' pic, this bass is second in from the right, next to the cream 4001CS!)

Prob is going to be finding a field big enough for the pyre! I'm definitely going to have a flightcase style coffin though!!! Bit macabre but you do have to prepare for the inevitable! I used my first series JV Squier (Fender) Precision bass for the Mike Berry gig - loved it! PA system was huge - big Martin rig with three 2 x 18 bass bins and array style top units each side - talk about bottom end! -
Like you don't have enough already!
When I finally kick me clogs the basses are to be piled up, my cold body held atop said pile in its custom flight case and thus the pyre will be complete!!! Bring on the fire! Rich - how is the neck on your 54 - mine is slightly chunky but still comfortable to play! Nick (now official dep for Mike Berry and the Outlaws!) -

I'm not a single-cut type guy but that ACG is a stunner! Well done Brother! That Tribute is a nice piece (they all are!) Bro. Smithius (thee hath a Vibeth liketh mineth noweth!) -
Allo! I'm by no means a synth expert but something like a Novation Bass Station or a Waldorf Pulse might be good - my old Yamaha is perfectly adequate but its not really anywhere near a fat Taurus sound. Failing that, look out for a sampler etc and see if you can get someone to lend you their set of Moog pedals. Cheers Nick
I've actually tracked my original one down again, but the owner doesn't want to sell at the moment. Maybe I'll get it back here one day for a full Status refinish...
We could start a new website - `Statii Reunited'! Gotta go, off to Gloucester for my debut gig with `Mike Berry and The Outlaws'!!! See yall later! Nick -

Happy Days!!! I used to own this..... and sadly let her go around three years ago. Well, she's come home to Daddy!! (via a complex set of wheels and deals!). Hurrah! Nick (thanks to Rich OTPJ for pic hosting and Lou Short - orig. owner for pic!) -
For today: Mouradian CS74. It's on some BC'ers wishlist and actually acquired last year by a London based TB'er (who may be on BC too?). It's used by and designed for Chris Squire with the body shape depicting the initials C S. It was made for a while in the '80s by Jim Mouradian (located near Boston, USA) who stopped making them for unknown reasons (an unconfirmed story tells he licensed the design to a Japanese company) but has recently moved back to where he originally started making custom basses and guitars (Winchester,MA). He's a very respected luthier and runs a shop/repair business together with his son Jon. He plans getting back to making the neckthrough CS and another model (the bolt-on Reality that's used by Pat Badger of Extreme who himself has worked in the Mouradian workshop too). There are both active and passive versions (Joe Barden or EMG pickups) and a possible CS75 fivestring version. For the past few years this design was made (under licence) by Las Vegas guitardealer Ed Roman (who owns probably more than twenty brandnames of highend custom guitars ) as the Abstract Mysterion.
If anyone knows of anyone selling a Mouradian CS-74, do let me know! I've got a kidney for sale!!!! I used to be in regular contact with Pat Badger many years ago - really nice bloke!
sweet. do you know where to get them from or are they an ebay job now? moog are reissuing the taurus pedals with 1000 being made.
Best thing to do would be to contact Roland UK and see where your nearest stockist is. I heard about the new Taurus pedals at the start of this year - looked into getting some but have let it slip! Be easier to get my old ones fixed!
I am pretty interested in information, comments and reviews of this bass. Can you help me with your esperience? thanks.
Hi! I borrowed a white Rostill bass from Burns Guitars a couple of years ago when I played at Bruce Welch's Shadowmania - they are a unique instrument and having three pickups means you can find some interesting sounds. They are physically quite a big bass and quite heavy but for the look and sound, unique! Cheers Nick
I'm pretty sure someone on BC has one the wonderful Wal double necks. I remember seeing Jonas Hellborg a couple of time with one and speaking to Ian Waller about them - I think at the time Wal had only made a couple and Ian wasn't sure where the other one went (if I recall - I am getting on a bit and the old memories are fading). Jonas was amazing and Ian was such a nice guy. Great instrument also !
I used to own this Wal twin neck - there were around 7 made: Fantastic bass - one (or is that two!?) that I should have kept! Nick

Yup! I've had a set of these for many years; I've got it hooked up to a very old Yamaha TX81-Z sound module and it does the biz - use a low string sound a la Taurus! (sometimes use an Oberheim module too!) I've split the pedals such that when I get to G#, its an octave lower than that same note on the E string of my bass. I've got a set of Moog Taurus pedals but sadly they are in dire need of a service - the Roland is much more reliable etc.
Hey Nick, Long time no speak! If I had to put money on someone having them it would be you or Morgan! Stu
Hi Stu! Hope you are well! Morgan has got one heck of a collection of ex-King and L42 instrumentation - I nearly had a heart attack when he showed me his guitar room - like being backstage at a L42 concert!!! Howay Marcus! Thought you'd left the building m8! That ex-MK Series II you had was a stunna! -
Yeah, that's a nice Jaydee - i think it has star inlays which if I recall had LED's in them? I'd love to know where Mark's pink and blue Jaydee's went - apparently he auctioned them, but I've never heard of anyone owning them. Stu
I've got them! Actually, I wish! The pink one is somewhere in Wales and the blue one went abroad I think. Marcus - has to be pearl blue (as pm'ed!). Yes Stu, the star inlays had LEDs! Nick
