And an obligatory - your basses are gorgeous, you lucky xxxxxxx - And a lovely country you live in too - I had a few shows there earlier this year, in Winterthur and Basel. It was in March, so still plenty of picturesque snow. I'm back there again in January - glutton for punishment, it'll be FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, welcome, and enjoy. gareth
Come to see my basses when you be here... Just tell me by PM.... I'm going on hollidays by the end of the year, but I'll be back in Switzerland from the 5th January. BRGDS

I just got back from Zurich yesterday. Nipped over to see my daughter (I'm another ancient bass player). My first trip to Switzerland for over 40 years! I should have been before. Lovely people. Thriving jazz scene. I must take in some music next time I'm over. Graham
Next time you're in Switzerland.. come to Geneva... I'll pay the beers
Beautiful bass mate,im well into rare underground french music of the 70s,have you heard of a band called cortex they have some superb playing on there albums.
Unfortunatelly, I don't know anything about "CORTEX".... I'll try to get some info about them....
Another beauty.
Another beauty. I said before that I wasn't going to be looking at any more of your posts, but I failed. Keep em coming.......it's such a treat. all the best, Gary
I can't help ! Thanks for your comments !
This guy is living my dream, owning beautiful vintage basses and living in a beautiful country. One day, sigh.
In order to live y better life... You'd bette focus on your own... Someone told me that "The grass looks always greener in the neibourgh's garden" !!! I'd like to have enough time to take advantage of my basses and be able to play them more often !!!! That would be my dream !!!!
 7.
yet another lovely bass but gotta say I prefer your mojo'd 68 with blocks, as it looks like its played a zillion smoky gigs and has nearly as many stories to tell!
In fact... yes... about the 1968 PB I've just been contacted by old fans of the band where the 1st owner of my 68 PB used to play. His name is Tony Carbonare, basse player of "Groupe Machin" (The Thing Band), a very popular underground french band during the seventies !!!! They recognised the bass, and told me that this instrument had a nickname "La Cancoillote". "Cancoillote" is the name of a French Stinky chesse.... They brushed up on tons of anecdotes, but I think that I won't be able to translate this kind of french humor !!!!
 8.
This looks great & I can't wait to see what else you own.
Hi again I've already posted a new thread about a JB 1965 !!! Hope you'd have a nice time reading it !!!
 9. Hi guys Time has come to introduce a third bass of mine. This is for me a especial one. As you must know , I'v already introduced in this forum my virginal Precision Bass "L" Series 1965 in Oly white color... Here is its sister... wich isnt as virginal as the other one... But this one I dare to play it !!!! Here is a 1965 Fender Jazz Bass L Series with a very little wear... When I first tried my other Jass Bass (the 1968) I though it wouldn't be possible to get better tone with a Jazz Bass... but, but... When I've heard this one I've hardly believed what I was hearing... In adition, This 1965 PB has the most incredible neck I've ever played... I don't like to explain too long how I got it, as a matter of fact, the guy I bougth this bass from, needed the money, and there I was... It isn't something to be proud or ashamed of... if I wouldn't bougth it, the owner would have to sell it for still less money that I've payed for it. Back to the bass, I'd like to say that Pre-CBS instruments are not only a myth Yes Sir... Pre CBS Fender Instruments are really thousands of miles ahead of anything manufactured after 1966.... I can't explain it but, there is an alchemy in the know-how of this era, that they won't be able to reproduce never again. Find all the pictures in this link: http://gs177.photobucket.com/groups/w228/J...75JU/?start=all Let's have a look at it
 10.
Very true Fender did not throw anthing away and so you will find pots from early years on later Basses. One of my 74 Jazz Bass is all but a 73 apart from the fact the thumb rest is on top of the e string, a move they did not do until early 74.( I know i will get my coat )
Fender didn't date parts to give a comprehensive way to see when an istrument was made. Especially during the first 15 years of production... Those stams and marks were only the way to know and when a particular piece had been made and who had made it... Something like a quality check rather than dating the whole instrument...
 11.
Yeah, I had my hands on a '65 Jazz briefly once, and I dream of having one eventually, but I fear it is but a distant dream.
This is my JB 65 sunburst L Series I've had it once in my hands and I kept it !!!! But I like Peavey basses too... I personally own 4 Peaveys T-40 Here is my T-40 lot.... among other old things !!!!
 12.
Lovely Bass I think its a 69 looking at the pickup dates and serial number.
May be possible.... but... as you must know, it's realy dificult to date a Fender Bass for sure... Neck stamp reads 1968, and pots 1967 as I think.... Once I thougth that the final set up was made in 1969 but.... Who can be sure of it ????? For all the others... Thanks for the comments !
 13.
oustanding

F-me. 15.
Incredible. That's the kind of bass I like to see! Can't wait for the rest of your collection!
One a day would be OK ?
