New bucket list bass ordered. Potential 4-6 month wait until it arrives but hopefully worth it! Fender American Original ‘60s Precision in LPB.

Just made some beef jerky. Cheapy Lidl steak hammered very thin, cut into 1" wide strips, marinaded for 12hrs in a witches brew of golden syrup, soy sauce, per-peri spices and Bovril(!), and then baked on a rack in the oven for 6 hours at 75deg. Turned twice and brushed with marinade during that time. Bloody marvellous.

Yesterday was the first day of my holiday. A whole week in Cumbria. Or at least, that's what I thought it'd be when I set off.

Moping at home after eye surgery last Saturday. Right retina tore & detached, so a surgeon sucked out all the goo, spot-welded the tears with a laser, then pumped up my eye with hexafluoroethane, a greenhouse gas. So that’s me on one eye for the next few weeks at least. I’ve even got the eyepatch. (Arrrr.)

NBD! It’s finally arrived... ordered my once-in-a-lifetime custom bass and after 2 1/2 years of build time/delays it’s finally here.... got to be honest I’m not smitten 🥺

Had a Bobby Vega youtube video on in the background as I worked... my wife just told me to stop playing bass!!!!
Quite why she didn't realise that my playing had improved massively I don't know!
