1. That looks tasty! Are you sure it's nitro? I thought Fender stopped using nitro in 1970 or thereabouts? Sorryto hijack the thread, just interested. Good luck with the sale
2. I really wanted this when it was first for sale back in November....not much has changed since then
3. Looks good Jim, I'm currently planning a Warmoth of my own. Quick question - if you have a neck or body made/finished, do Warmoth take the payment before or after it's complete? I've only bought from the Showcase before and never had anything 'custom' made for me that takes a few weeks. Cheers
4. Good work Silddx. I had a MIJ 75 reissue in the CAR and it's just beautiful in real life. Better get in touch with John for my commission cheque
5. I've had a Warmoth tele bass neck and quite a bit of hardware from them. Build quality is amazing, no issues at all. I bought from the Showcase so only waited perhaps a couple of weeks for the neck to be finished before it was shipped. Emailing the folks there is no problem, you get a response within a day usually. Never really looked into the Gecko stuff, but the more traditional Fendery type stuff is very highly regarded in the parts world. Only issue these days is the exchange rate, but there's not much you can do about that. Good luck if you decide to go for it. Planning and sorting everything before hand is half the fun (well, for sad bastards like me!)
6. The 'best of' looks pretty good, but the first 2 albums are full of great tracks - I got a special edition In It For The Money with b-sides and rare tracks off ebay for about 75p...cracking. There's a track on the 'best of' called 'Bullet' that isn't on any other album...it absolutely melts my face every time I hear it. Love it.
7. I wish I'd seen them live. I Should Coco and IIFTM are great albums and the b-sides to match are equally superb. I got Life On Other Planets for Christmas and even though it's not quite as good as the first two, it's still a great album. Such a shame they'd split.
8. DO WANT. http://fareastguitars.co.uk/usedjb1.htm
9. We're Orange/Matamp twins!!
10. Rich bought my Fender case, no problems at all, smooth sale, paid when he said he would, no problems at all, great guy. Thanks again Rich.
11. Bump - I'm in Birmingham from Sunday to Tuesday if that can help anyone?
12. Hi chums, Not using this much at all anymore, so it may as well make someone else happy. This is a black fender hard case, I got from soundslive a year or so ago. Case is in good condition, the odd scratch and scrape here and there, but I've tried to capture it in the pics. Also, it's a tolex case...it's going to get scratches. Handle and latches all work fine, and I think I've got the key for the lock somewhere. Fits Jazzes and Precisions, and smells a beaut as well! Looking for £90 picked up in Lancaster, or I can ship/deliver within an hour for £100. Cheers for looking, here's some nice pictures... 2 pence and Ibanez Blazer not included*
13. That's a cracker. I love these basses...I stupidly sold one last year (it sat on here for months at 500), then went on ebay for about 420. The guy who bought it emailed me again a few months later asking if I wanted to buy it back. I said I was interested and would he sell it back for what he had paid. He stuck it on ebay, didn't reply to any emails and it went with a buy it now of 850 or thereabouts. Bummer. So, sorry, the pirces on these can be all over the place.
14. That's the Matamp 2x12 mentioned above. I picked it up directly from the factory in Meltham, near Huddersfield. A few folks have got one on the board (Tayste and others). Of course, the hardcore ones would spit at running an Orange through a Matamp cab
15. I believe the appropriate term is 'Do Want!!!11'.
16.
How about one of these? Hard to beat for the authentic sound: http://www.matamp.co.uk/Retro2x12.htm
That's exactly what I'm using...sounds great
17. Hi chums. This might sound incredibly dense, but I'm aware of celluloid pickguards shrinking over time and was curious how long this process takes. Do the screws of a pickguard help keep it 'stretched' over a body, and would a pickguard begin to show signs of shrinkage after a few months/years of not being attached to a body. Gonna be getting a celluloid tort guard soon, but it won't have a body for a while so just curious. I hope I've explained that well?! Thanks
18. I've heard that the USA '75 reissue has proper 70's pickup spacing (where the bridge pup is moved towards the bridge), wheras the Japanese '75 still has the 'traditional' 60's pickup spacing. That may affect the tone somewhat.
19. For the sake of closure, I thought I'd update this thread as the man himself emailed me this morning.... Congratulations to all those who said.....Ebony!! You can be proud you have good fretboard ID skills!

21. Yep, that's what I was on about Gaf -cheers. A quick google search said the tuners on the US versions can be different - they're the ones with the big baseplate apparently. Any chance of a pic of the back of the headstock?
22.
ermm not really sure mate.. dont really know much about the Jap fenders. Is there anyway i can check?
Not sure myself, maybe someone can chip in if they know? No worries though. Cheers buddy.
