  1. Two of mine are in bands now, one on bass, the other on guitar. I'm very jealous of the awesome gigs they get to play (Brudenell, Parasido in Amsterdam, Glastonbury, a Marc Riley session), and they're very jealous that my gigs tend to be better paid! One added benefit of having your kids into music is that they help me keep in touch with decent new bands/artists
  2. My 80s/ska band Chequered Past are at the Bilton Club in Harrogate on Saturday 16th Nov. Here we are last week in Rotherham. My recently put together Bitsa Precision making it's first appearance . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da_qYng7koQ
  3. My old cab too, which coincidentally I only sold after I ruptured my quadricep tendon and needed something with a one hand lift. A really special cab, which I'd have back in a heartbeat if I was still using an amp.
  4. For it's because it makes everything easier to hear, which is the purpose of monitoring, right? To a certain extent (I suspect you won't like this) I'm not that bothered about what people hear FOH.
  5. I'm running stereo IEMs using a Behringer P16M. The keyboards in particular sound much better, and I pan drums around a bit, and backing vocals left and right. For me it's much better. Because it's a digital out from the desk, it doesn't use the Auxes. The drummer does the same as me, and the others are mono at the moment, although I think the keys player is keen to give it a go.
  6. I bought John's mandolin, fast delivery, well packaged and exactly as described , thank you.
  7. Bought some parts from David, which were packaged perfectly and sent very quickly. Thanks for responding to my wanted ad. Top basschatter.
  8. Have now had three separate purchases from Mike, all smooth as silk. Many thanks .
  9. I bought a pedal board from Sharkboy - excellent comms, well packed, someone we can trust.
  10. I sold an amp to Richard. He paid promptly, organised the courier, and has been excellent with the comms throughout.
  11. I have one of these for sale: https://www.skb-racks.co.uk/skb-1skb-r3s-roto-moulded-shallow-rack-case-3u_1349 Condition is good, latches all work, it has a few scuffs but nothing too serious. Collection from Harrogate or I can deliver locally. Postage at buyers expense.
  12. I played my last gig with my blues band last week, and my new band is all in-ears, through the PA, so I have no use for this now. It is, in my view, the Rolls Royce of bass amps. Loud, plenty of heft, warm, powerful EQ, two channels, valve pre, it's got everything, even motorised controls! It's been kept in a SKB rack case and is in excellent condition. No issues. The case is included but you can have the amp without the case for £550. I don't have the original box and it's heavy (not to be confused with their class D amps) so would require collection from Harrogate. I may also be able to deliver for a contribution to petrol within Yorkshire or beyond. Any questions, let me know.
  13. I bought some connectors from Mike and the whole process has been smooth as silk. I'd happily buy from him again.
  14. These are incredibly well made, and that's a bargain.
  15. Mine is pretty simple now: wireless > compressor > preamp (with overdrive in the loop) > desk. Powered by two rechargeable batteries.
  16. I've just put my Zoom H5 in the for sale section in case anyone's thinking of giving this a try
  17. Zoom H5 Recorder with original box and accessories. I've used this primarily for IEM in a live environment for which it is ideal. Only selling because I'm now using a Behringer P16M. I've also used this for recording some gigs, it was excellent but not something I do often enough to justify keeping it. Collection from Harrogate welcome, or I can potentially deliver in Yorkshire, otherwise happy to post in the UK

  18. Voodoo Labs ISO 5 power supply, complete with original box and assortment of cables. Price includes postage within the UK. You'll see the writing is rubbing off the unit, but it all works perfectly. Five isolated outputs, including high current and dedicated 18v outputs.

  19. This used to be mine, it's really a lovely cab.
  20. The Zoom or similar will work. The H4 (I think) which I have, has stereo mics, and two XLR inputs, with separate volume controls. The simplest option is to take a DI feed from your bass amp or a different pedal, plug into one of the inputs and mis that and the stereo mics, plugging your IEMs directly into the headphones out of the Zoom. No need for a P2. If possible you can take a feed from the desk and plug that into the other input and mix as little or as much as that into it. How effective it will be will depend on how effectively the IEMs block out ambient sound from the room.
  21. Colin kindly got in touch in response to my wanted ad, and sold me his P16M. Very well packaged, sent promptly, and excellent Comms. Thanks mate.
  22. My IEM journey so far. I've done gigs using methods 1 and 2 below, cheaply using AS-10 earpieces and P2. Sometimes I use the Zoom, which has the advantage of me tweaking my bass volume and getting some ambient room sound too. All wired so far. I think my next step is to move to no 3, and buying a P16M. This will still be wired, but give me more control of the mix (an iPad is too fiddly for me) and a stereo mix (if I've understood correctly). If that goes well, when funds allow I'll move to wireless. I'll also upgrade my earphones when funds allow. The band all play through the PA (a Behringer X18) and everyone else is on mono wireless IEMs. We gig two to four times a month. Any thoughts/suggestions?
  23. @EmmettC is after one of these I think, Andy.
  24. I bought a wireless unit from Martin and the whole transaction has been excellent, a thoroughly recommended basschatter.
  25. Wal bought my session cake thingy, all good, great Comms, wholly trustworthy basschatter.
