  3. Ive played his vampire, nah nah nah nah nah!!
  4. Just learn the first album.. I did, and it was a great learning curve.. especially as I hate tabs and what-not so worked it out by ear.
  5. ARGH, you are just loving this.. and what kind of moron wants an 11 string.. pah
  6. When i first learned the 3 finger DiGiorgio Method my kright forearm cand like a mutha whilst I was first practicing. However as I kept playin the style in practice eventually I could go faster and without hurting. I think its an experience and adjustment thing.
  7. Wondered if anyone knew any good quotes about bass or music. Like Play the music, not the instrument. ~Author Unknown Ash
  8. Oh dear lord.. is this still going.
  9. well what i mean is just offer replacement pickups for basses, but wooden covers. Surely if a company can mass (to an extent) produce wooden pickups it would push the price down seeing as the only way to get em atm is to get them custom made which costs ££££££££££
  10. standard pickups but in wooden covers instead of plastic, like p,j or soapbar style.
  11. This thread is almost pointless now. Basically as far as I can see, in my own opinion there's one bass (pun heheh) argument going on... Basically anyone who says more than 4 is too much is basically denying the right for instruments and consequently music to evolve. You think, if we had taken that attitude years ago.. no electric guitar, no pianos, no bass, no lute... nothing. We'd still be hitting hollow tree trunks with the skulls of those who dared to tie string to wood and twang. IF a person decides they want top play a 6/7/8/9/10/11/12/13 string bass, it is their right to be able to do it. Who is anyone to say "I think thats stupid, therefore I shall tell them they are wrong." Im not saying more traditional instruments and more traditional ways of playing are bad either as once again that is your right to play how you want, and no-one has the right to say "oh but your wrong, why stick to just 4 strings?" No-one in this thread really takes precedence over each-other and certainly has the right to tell anyone they are wrong. Following this thought process, this thread should have lasted one page. I play both Bass and ERB as well as Guitar. So what. If you play solely 4 string. Good on ya. That's your choice. If you play solely 9 string. Good on ya. That's your choice. After Thought... 12. Encore P-bass all the way. Biggest mistake was gettin rid of it.
  13. What do you use as a stand
  14. I love my conklin. go for it they sound amazing. Look beautiful, well built. What more could you want.
  15. What styles do you play. Does it tap well... please tell me it taps well.!!!!! giddy childish giggles.
  16. IF you like Burton's tone, dont forget that pretty much after the first album he put the rickenbacker into retirement. If you watch cliff em all you'll see a couple solo's on the ricky and it sounds alright but nothing compared to the solo on the more modern basses. Also I can tell you now.. they are hard work to play. But then again they are insanely coooooooool. Its your choice, but make sure its the right one.
