1. Oh god, and avoid loughborough at all costs! We reckon someone has been selling fake fenders!
2. I find music shops a lotto. County Music in Canterbury.. I love, let me try anything, very friendly, well organised etc etc. However I was really cheesed after visiting a local shop last week. My wallet jammed with over 300 quid of cash I walk into the shop looking to try out some 12 strings (Calm down people!) I ask to try one and the lady comes over and passes it over. So far so good. £300 12 string guitar. Sound lovely. Little bit overpriced than on the net but hey. Support your local shops right. She then comes over snatches the guitar from my hands after just a few minutes and makes a sour comment. "You've probably worn it out by now. Problem with you kids is you never have money..." and so on. Now 2 things. I'm 18, ok still a teen, but i work, pay my way through uni,(thanks to the governemnt who prefer to spend 4 billion a year on war than education, politicians are kids if you ask me) (also have a beard so im not that little lookin) so I expect to have a little respect than be treated like some jumped up 13 year old. (And generally speakin theyre all loaded now and buying more and more expensive stuff) Also not to blow my own trumpet, but im quite good at 12 string folk style, so im not just messin around. I didnt even bother replying to such customer service, I just left. Will never ever return. F em!
3. Oh forget to mention, tis the firewire version
4. Hey guys, Possibly selling my MOTU 828 mkii mixer due to upgrade if anyone is interested. As stated 270 quid o.n.o. (Updated) Basically great mixer MOTU 828mkII Overview The 828mkII contains everything you need to turn your Mac or PC computer into a powerful 24-bit, 96kHz digital audio workstation. With simple plug-and-play operation via "high-speed" USB 2.0, the 828mkII provides 20 inputs and 22 outputs, including 10 channels of pristine 96kHz analog recording and playback, combined with 8 channels of ADAT digital I/O and stereo S/PDIF. Expand your system by connecting additional interfaces. http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/828mkII Ive not had any problems with it. Any q's go ahead. Oh and as is the most common question, yes you can record many many inputs to seperate tracks imultaneously (obv depending on software). I use logic, but it will work with cubase etc. (Wont work with pro tools.) Cheers
5. For cheapo shtuff, behringer microphones come cheap, and as usual audacity is recommendation (free), however if you look in the recording forum you will find no end to program, and equipment advice.
6. For that kind of stuff you wanna buy a mac min off the bay, and get garageband. for about 300 quid you can have an absolutely mint environment for recording. Or Audacity is good, if you willing to try Linux try Ardour.
7. Krieger was an amazingly diverse self taught Guitarist. I mean the Doors were just a brilliant band. Shame Jim Morrison died.
8. This is like the bassist community's laminated book of dreams. Plastic Keyboards that catch tears of joy!
9. Oh wow. Love to have a read. Backorder it is
10. Im a huge Doors fan, but after much listening, and watching of live clips ive deduced Sometimes there is bassist on stage, sometimes not, sometimes the bass is done by Manzarek somehow. Does anyone know exactly what/who the Doors bassist was?
11. If your going for nix recording then Ardour is the dog's proverbials! Also theres a brilliant distro called 64 studio.
12. That was a thoroughly good thread to read. When I mix I like to get as clear a sound from each track before I apply the master mastering. Of course it depends on the music. TBH as good as Audacity is, I wouldnt be too happy with its mastering abilities.
13. Im thinking zen-dingo woul be a great name for an australian hippie rock acid 70's band!
14. Its alright. But mario music is fun. I like it. probably because I spent many an hour as small person learning to eat mushrooms to become big and strong. Anyone else love retro console music. Ocarina of time is brilliant, And Yoshis isalnd!! Pure genius. In fact Mr Baudin stated he would love to compose a videogame soundtrack.
15. In my moment of sheer appreciation, i'd just like to say... God, I love music! Theres been lots of are the mods too strict, is there a problem on this forum and general bitchiness, and tbh, i love this forum and thankyou all those who run it, and all the happy users after all we are all here for the music.
