Ok I recorded a little demo for you. Intro and first section shows the delay extensively. The main tapping theme is full delay and feedback, whilst the bass over the top of that is the delay time being changed about. The interlude is just some delayed tapping, then the funk bit shows the compressor on the slap and funk bass, as well as delay on slapping. Also with the delay time relay small, but with lots of feedback the lead bass gets that funk guitar tone.

I like to keep em similar, however I always makes sure I can play sets on any basses ill be using. Some gigs I used to do, it would be a 6 and two 4's all in diff tunings, however i made sure i learned all songs on all the basses and tuning, just in case.

Sennheiser HDxxx are good performers. Its really between Beyer and Sennheiser. I prefer closed back as well, ive used it for A tuning before (B string on a 7 string dropped down) and closed back sennheiser's worked perfectly.

Well just have to listen to endless manufactured crap on Radio 1 now that real music is dead. Hang on...

They sound great either way. A later project for this will be too add a purpleheart scratch-plate. I find it easier to slap with a plate, plus I love purpleheart and it will fit in with the theme of the bass. Yours has such a nice finish on it. I was thinking maybe one day to get it refinished too. Break away from the 2 colour options there are.

My mac mini is fine. 1.66 ghz dual core, 2gb ram, runs logic pro, and pro tools an garageband with ridiculous amounts of tracks and virtual instruments and effects no problem Mac is definately the way.

Hey guys, Some of you may have seen my plans to build delay and compressor into my conklin. Well, I did. I ordered 2 modboards from guitarfetish, spent 3 days drilling, filing and soldering my basses guts with my good tech man Dan (of whom I owe many thanks). And this is the result. 3 Concentric Pots and 2 single pots and 2 switches. This gives control of bass, treble, master gain, pickup balance, delay time, delay feedback, compressor gain, compressor threshold, delay on/off and compressor on/off.
