This bass has a beautiful 1/8"-thick piece of highly figured flamed maple that is bent by hand to fit the contoured body. I have done my best to catch the details in the pictures but not easy to get the light levels right.
..here are a couple of photos that might help, Chris :-

Massive vote of THANKS to Mike, who took time and patience to arrange collection and delivery for a bass from the W.Sussex area. Great communication throughout and the bass was packaged with a lot of thought & care, and the right materials. Brilliant !
?.. I thought it had been 10% FVF for quite some time; but to a maximum of £40 ??
.. this is the first time I've quoted myself!! Was this (10% up to a max. £40) never the case?! If it was, then they're reverted back to the more complex sliding sum+% scale that (I thought) the simplified 10%/£40 was brought in to replace (without me even realising). I agree that 10% (with no limit) is going to be really too-much if you're selling something like a high-end bass or gear. For the cheaper stuff it won't be so much of a 'hit'. What's the usual commissioned-sale rate these days, from the music shops? Paypal was (?) 3.4% + 20p. Not sure if this has been changed. My advice would be: if they're going to do this, then list your bass/gear for 10/30 days, see what sort of response, questions, offers you get - then pull-it in the final 24h. There are plenty already doing this - just using the ebay site for advertising really. Many of them also include their contact (mobile) number. Use ebay to sell small/other stuff (to maintain/increase your profile & Feedback).
I've just read that ebay are planning to increase their sellers fees for guitars from 3 to 10% of final selling price. So if you sell that sexy 70s jazz for £1500 they'll slap you with a bill for £150. As the boy scouts motto says "Be prepared".
?.. I thought it had been 10% FVF for quite some time; but to a maximum of £40 ??
