1. Hmmm .. was quite interested in this when last listed (April/May)..... :- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/173911-for-sale-1988-alembic-elan/page__fromsearch__1 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/173920-for-sale-1988-alembic-elan/page__fromsearch__1
 2.
The bass is sold and will be shipped to germany. eubassix notified me that there is also one on the UK ebay. That's definitely not me. (Kind of strange since the photos are made on the same looking carpet.)
available on ebay.uk, but based in NL. It is odd to see two such unusual/identical (incl. background) basses at the same time (can't recall another Andreas Shark other than mine plus a couple of the 'Basking' models that have been up on Talkbass for ages) .. but pleased to hear you managed a quick sale. :- http://www.ebay.co.u...006%26rk%3D1%26 ... just noticed that the NL seller describes as ' Body material: red body with rubberized opaque finish' - so looks dodgy, as the bass is black and the rest of the description is just copied/pasted.
 3. PM'd: these are very unique/unusual/well-made instruments; here's some photos of my old 4-string in red - could be the one in the video (youtube/OP) .. but that's certainly not me playing it (!).
 4. Had the pleasure of meeting-up with Andy when collecting an instrument. Great guy, great Bass. Easy and pleasant deal throughout.
 5. Genuine pleasure to meet-up with Rob in Sutton (en-route from Singapore to Teesside!) and have a long bass-related discussion, whilst also buying a bass (!).
 6. Have now done a couple of deals with Ville and both were perfect. No issues whatsoever and enjoyed some amusing PM's throughout (!). Really generous and helpful BC'er.

 12.
Quite a nice price... Saw a fretted version a while (in DK)... Seller wantin' £1000 more :s.
(Re)fretted then, would still represent a c. £800 saving on that particular bass !
 13. 1998 Jon Shuker custom built 6 string. SOLD
 14.
Exactly. No point in having it fretted unless its someone who can do the job full justice.
I think there are a few who have the skill / knowledge to do this (and to make instruments) at least as well as Warwick.......
 15.
Someone buy this - they're unbelievable - passive bass that can nail a J tone, J-on-steroids, a P-on-steroids and encroach into MM 'bucker territory, look no further. They're so flexible it's unreal. And the build quality is up there with the CS. Eub - I don't know if you do Facebook, but if you do, post it here. If you don't, let me know and I'll post a link to this thread in there.
Thanks Michael. I'll get into that FaceBook section once back from Asia but would appreciate it if you could add a link for now !
 16.
Any idea what it would cost to convert it to fretted? Who would be up for the job besides Warwick?
PM'd
 17. Thanks for some really positive comments & encouragement .... al I need now is somebody to take notice and buy it ! In response to a couple of Q's/comments: (sfn) - plays like new (JS did his usual excellent, professional job; just doesn't look quite new; (SAx) - suppose it might have belonged to Keith at some time, but it was with John Giblin for some time before I got it. Not seen KP for ages - at that time he had a nice matching pair (fretted/FL) of Overwater Progress 5's. now sold ... thanks for the many positive comments / info. on this bass
 18.
You'll 'Fin' your way round it, and the scales will be no problem. Did I just post that?
Very good OM, wish I'd thought-of/added that myself, although I'm sure there might be more/similar from other members (?) I'll have to leave this topic from late June/early July (off to Singapore) but Joe's contact info. will be here and the best/direct option for any interested BC'er. b U m P ..... Final reduction-reminder: £1850 !!! - PM or contact Joe direct. "][email protected] / 07764489289
 19.
the fish?
... the dolphins - throughout the f/board (all positions); appreciate that dolphins aren't actually fish, but 'use the dolphin' (Luke) doesn't sound right....
 20.
i miss the lined fingerboard :(otherwise i would buy it
... I'm sure the lines could be added Frederik; or you could 'use the Fish' .....
 21. Roscoe Beck Bass V - Artist Signature Series (Fender USA) for Texas bass veteran Roscoe Beck. SOLD
 22. Kongo (Aaron) bought a Laney RB1 from me, having been unable to source an 'After-Eight'. Fortunately, it seems to fit the bill perfectly, so both parties happy. Great PM's - conversation throughout and provided some useful and prompt updates on payment (which was immediate) and on the RB1 arriving. An easy/pleasant deal and would recommend 100%.......
 23. Now-Sold
