1. Basschat simply 'is' what it is. The vast majority of people accept that and as for the minority who don't, they always have the option of going elsewhere. This topic of conversation is now finished.
2. As far as the overwhelming majority of BassChat members are concerned, there is no problem. To be perfectly blunt about it, we are not going to change the way that BassChat works simply to appease a small number of people who seem to think that their minority viewpoint is more valid than that of the majority. The majority of members have approved of the changes, the minority have had their say and now it's time to move on.
3. My experience is that people with the money to pay £1000 for a band generally want/expect the standard wedding 'cheesy' stuff and a ten minute version of Tam Lin might not hit the mark.
4.
You don't work for the government, by any chance..?
I'm not monitoring your internet traffic or mobile phone calls...

6.
Just browsing the forum as a newcomer and have to say, that guy modelling the Polo shirts looks a bit dodgy !!
Well it was either him or me, and I haven't got the legs.
7. Well that's another error sorted out... I love IT.
8. An Error Occurred [#10341] We have hidden this topic to keep you in suspense, you do not have green snakes in your coffee, please install pink bananas.
9. Alternatively, just ensure you put the strings on properly.
10. Volvo V70. 1x15 and 2x10 and three basses in the boot. Amp rack in back seat footwell leaving space for two back seat passengers if required. Insurance varies according to your driving history, but it costs me less than £40 a month.
11.
Something like this should do the trick!
I didn't realise he was playing in a girl band...
12.
At OP, there are no winners in a scenario that involves wearing 80s yellow shorts. Keep it simple
Absolutely. White ones are much better...
13.
It is: x-1, where 'x' is the number of basses which when reached, will cause your wife/husband/partner to leave you.
There's also an interesting variant: x+s, where 's' is directly related to the speed at which you want the person to leave and is proportional to bass count.
14.
Least effective ninja ever!
When you consider the number of traffic cones that are on the road on any given day, it's very effective...
15.
I gotta say, I thought a jack was a jack was a jack .
Nah, that'd be easy and make perfect sense and we certainly can't be having with that. What generally happens with some of these posh leads is they have a different shaped tip which pushes the socket 'tip' connector back further than it should. It's great to begin with - it makes a really firm connection against the tip connector. However, that excessive back and forth motion you get, when you insert and remove the jack plug, eventually weakens the springiness and it can then lose contact with the tip of the plug - especially if you decide to change to a different type of lead with a differently shaped tip. On the open 'skeleton' type sockets you can tease the spring back into place with a pair of long nose pliers, but if your bass has a sealed barrel type jack socket then it's pretty much a write off straight away.
16. Yep. Although the diameter of the shaft is pretty much standardised, the tip shape varies across different manufacturers plugs. I've used 'posh' cables in the past but they've nearly always caused problems - only cables I use now have Neutrik connectors as standard because I've found they always work.
17. I'm not familiar with the internals of the Stagg EDB, but the only picture I can see of the electronics looks like one of the square blue bodied pots (made by Bourns). Those are pretty readily available online, but I don't know what value they use - it'll be written on the casing of the pot somewhere.
18. I just made myself a guitar lead with a 3.5mm stereo plug (wired as mono) on the end. Plug it into my PC's soundcard, plug headphones in and away I go. It also gives me a little mixer if I want to use the Media Player to play along with.

20.
And if that's right it means that 1 in 20 posts made gets deleted!
If that's right then I need to delete about 385 of your posts retrospectively...
21. I've tried, but I can't make head nor tail of how the posts are numbered so this is definitely one for the superior intellect of the Admins. (Don't be tempted )
22. Hmm. Some of them sound remarkably like people with greenhouses throwing stones. My personal favourite is "We split for musical differences, I'm musical and they're just..."
