  1. errr.... cancel the above - broke my feckin' arm yesterday! Going to try to honour my existing commitments by playing bass using a keyboard (with my right hand ) - does anyone out there have any experience / success in doing the same? Be great to hear what gear you used and how you got on etc. Many thanks.

  3. The plate looks fine to me ! I had a similiar model a few years ago (1957 model, black body/white plate etc), and it was a fine thing. Don't remember them being available in white body/white plate option though,so maybe the plate has been replaced (torty original?)or the body had a refin perhaps? Either way whoever gets this will be getting a nice usable P-bass. Good luck with the sale.
  4. Has anyone ever noticed all the bum bass notes in 'Hey Baby'? Sounds like the bassist was on a first run through in the studio and they kept it! Wrong but kinda right too!! Wonderful stuff.
  5. I've been professional for over 15 years, and have plenty of playing experience including many top venues. Am an excellent busker,(with backing vocals if required!), and have some reading ability too. Looking for some dep work - functions etc. I am based in Yorkshire but can travel if necessary. Good gear (Musicman/GK etc) and a friendly pro outlook! Short notice work a possibility - try me! Cheers.
  6. Check out [url="www.reverb-store.co.uk"] They have a 20% opening offer discount on virtually everything, including basses and bass amplification etc. May be worth a look. Cheers.
  7. There's a Warwick Profet 3.2 300 watt head listed at the moment - buy it now price of £110. Seems cheap for an okay piece of kit? Think these go for around the £200+ mark when new, and this one is virtually that. Its not listed under bass amps though, so may not get noticed much. Could be a bargain for a skint basschat person? Ebay number is 250295912339, and its pickup only near Peterborough. Cheers.
  8. 2 X 8 ohm outputs, 2 X 8 ohm cabs. Sounds easy to me! Total load on your amp will be therefore be 4 ohms ,which will probably give the maximum output too! Job done!
  9. Godin stuff really good quality, although thin bodies restrict acoustic volume. I recommend Washburn - I've had an AB20 for over 10 years with no probs - never had to set it up from new, just restring every now and then with phosphor bronze Elites or similiar! You see Washburn AB10s coming up on ebay for less than £300. Do bear in mind that most acoustic electric basses are only really loud enough unplugged for a bit of rehearsal at home. To be heard even with unplugged 6 strings you will need a dash of amplification.
  10. Maybe bit too far north for you, but Electro Music in Doncaster always been great for service and price etc.
  11. Following a restringing session, I have the following used strings which may be useful for any Basschat people. 1. 2 sets of D'Addario EXL 170 (45/65/80/100) off a Musicman Sterling bass - NOW CLAIMED-SORRY! 2. 1 set of Elites Double ball end (40/60/80/100) off a Hohner B2A Steinberger bass - NOW CLAIMED _ SORRY! 3. 1 set of Elites Phosphor Bronze (40/60/80/100) off a Washburn AB20 acoustic/electric bass - NOW CLAIMED - SORRY! Obviously all sets are used, but not totally knackered! Free to anyone who wants 'em, collection from Hull area preferred! (Will post for cost if required at £2 a set.) Cheers.

Sold Martin my Boss ME8-B pedal board. Great communictions, arranged meeting went well despite my having very little time etc, and a top bloke to deal with! No hesitation in recommending to anyone on this site! Cheers Mart!
  18. Mate of mine had a T-Max in combo form (think it ran at 4 ohms into its internal speaker). He then bought a Peavey 210 4 ohm cab to run with it as well, therefore giving its full output into 2 ohms. Thats when the problems started! Local engineer expressed doubts over whether these amps can run for long periods into 2 ohms without overheating etc. far safer to run them at 4 he reckoned. Good luck getting sorted!
  19. Would have had this off you if you were further north - bugger! Good luck wit' sale though.
