  1. When i started out and skint i relied on these repairs, even gigged with them. I had no choice, times were too hard to think of a new set, plus a long bus ride to the nearest shop, new strings were birthday or christmas materials. A great way out of a spot. I'm a tad more selective these days.
  2. Cant see the attraction or reasoning. I find the Fender 'relic' industry rather silly too. The Rory Gallagher signature even has one of the tone pots no longer working. I just don't get it. For Rory? He toured hard and played that instrument to its state with sweat, blood and tears. When he walked into his local shop to buy his first Fender I'll bet my last bass that he went home and just touched and played with it whilst marvelling at its beauty, quality and the craftsmanship behind it. He didnt plan the damage or want a scruffy guitar, his working conditions created that. Its like buying Rolling stones Tshirts from Next, just a passing vanity fad. Our signature sound is in our hands, the instrument is the medium for expression. I love my basses and get that horrible feeling in my gut if anything happens to them, once that passes it becomes a part of the guitar but if i had the choice these war wounds wouldn't be there. This is a stupid fad and once the said fad has passed this guy is going to realise he just threw the value and allure of his beautiful instrument away in the name of vanity. Maybe I'm just boring
  3. Im surprised to see this up here Kev. Youve reasoned it very clearly though. Just waiting for my commission from Tom. If its been up against a Darkglass then that goes a long way to show how highly it can hold its own. The great thing with buying from Tom is that any little changes or issues can be easily sorted as he is so approachable and a top chap. He'd probably be willing to re etch the new owners name into it. Thats a great price too. If my COG wasnt on order id have snapped your hand off for this . Glwts
  4. Closed as bass has been sold
  5. I still think the P-Nut bass is a sensible offer he he......

    Kev's Feedback

The Purple Black Duck wins through on yet another bass trade with me. As always and now expected, Kev is a true pro at getting these deals sorted swiftly and with no fuss. Must be our 4th or 5th major trade and always simple. Cheers Kev Will send you a pic for your birthday ;-) Col
  14. Here are my two new additions. Warwick Streamer P-Nut Signature II & III Both were reviewed for the german magazine. Simply sublime. Nothing more I can say....
  15. Superb rig at a killer price. Ive got one except my cabs are both 212. Its not cheap but you can tell where the money goes. Any sound possible and its got a very handy trio of memory banks which you don't realise you always needed until you start using them. The tuner is a great help also. I love mine to bits. Have a bump :-)
  16. I really really love this but have no bass to trade. Ive got a guitar to offer but no bass :-(
  17. Good luck with the sale. This is an absolute gem of a bass and plays as good as it looks. I was lucky enough to be its guardian for a while and seeing her again really plucked a heart string. Julius is a top trader so you can trade with total confidence. Cheers Col
  18. Cack handed its a Reverso !! Seriously though, i thank you
