1. Superb looking bass. Amazing value too. This should fly at that price. Good luck bump
2. There may well be delays in my answering questions over the next week as i'll be away. I will be popping in as often as possible though. Cheers Col
3. Thats a real top notch gesture. I'm sure someone who is struggling in these tough times will really appreciate it Just a thought! Anyone who ends up taking this great looking bit of kit makes a donation to the OP's favourite charity or to Basschat however small every little helps. Big respect
4. Interested in guitar gear by any chance? Ive got bass gear for sale and if it does sell soon i'll be after this. Cheers Col
5. Well, although very close The II is a a bit calmer and has a smoother output than the III. The 3 is more skittish, more presence in the mids and a marginally hotter output. A bit like Ferrari & Lamborghini. They do the same thing very well but in their own way. P-Nut 2 is a more subtle instrument, the III is the younger brother with ADHD. Enough analogies?
6.
Sad to see a player forced into early retirement. I would not be comfortable with benefitting for your situation. But if you ever need to part with your Dingwall Z3 I am sure there would be a disorderly queue. Good luck with Sale of your Warwicks & Status. I already have a very nice limited edition FNA Jazzman, otherwise I would be tempted. Cheers
Cheers Graham, The Dingwall is probably the best bass Ive ever had my hands on so I'm gonna hang on to it for now. I'll give you the first knock if I change my mind, All the best Col
7. Thanks for the kind words Jon, Ive read your thread and your sentiments rung true with me also. Gigging aint what it used to be and i think thats made my decision a tad easier. Who knows what the future will bring though, theres still plenty one can do with bass without having to gig so it aint the end of the world. Cheers and good luck. Col
8. The great thing about them is that should you ever tire of playing you could use it to prop up a sagging ceiling or reinforce a supporting wall. Military grade but not the prettiest guitar ever made.
9. I'm just thinking of Cliff Williams of AC/DC. He gets his moves in very tastefully and makes the best use of root notes. The band wouldnt work any other way. I do agree they could have used a more positive slant but they are guitarists afterall, members of the diva section.
10. Muchos grasias guys. The empathy from the community is palpable. It could be worse, at least I can still play. I'm gonna use the time to brush up on technique and theory which Ive allowed to get a tad sloppy. Just think, no lugging up fire escapes, no more negotiating the gear out of a venue through drunken revellers into a cold wet night for a few hours drive and reverse the process lol. Nearly convinced myself there ha ha
11.
Don't do it Col, who cares if they only get played at home?
Thanks Lenny, much appreciated @ Graham. I think these basses need to be played, sitting around waiting for the odd knock is not what they were built for. I feel it would be a waste of good wood. Any buyer will understand my reasoning. Believe me though when I say I'm xxxxxxx gutted!!!!!
12. From experience please dont. The bass may be gleaming and sparkly but how will you feel when youve been summoned by your bank, landlord or cut off from your utilities. Believe me it wont be such a shiny bass then.
13.
Glad to read that you're hanging onto at least one of your basses!
Yet another big thanks folks. I've worked very hard with my whole med team, I've had at least 5 yrs more than I was supposed to have ( gigging that is) I even hired a roadie but enough is enough now. Thanks for the positive vibes though. The way things are so far Ill have no choice but keep them earning their keep ;-) No big bites yet! Cheers folks Col
14. Thats beautiful. Adjusting will happen swiftly Enjoy
15. Those a very kind sentiments folks. Much appreciated. Now get your credit cards out and make that bank transfer :-)
16. Cheers folks, A tough decision but if i get a health miracle then i'll be able to go on a buying spree again :-) If these sell.
17. Negotiations about to begin. Still taking offers
18.
Is that the Z3 in your signature thumbnail? I'd love a Z3 but I'm gonna have to wait until kids aren't needing daily handouts. I was just about to pull the trigger on a super j and the funds got rerouted for something else. It's a no brainier really, happy kids or a bass for me. But it's always ahead of me so time will reward the patient.
It certainly is my Z3 and a wonderful bass she is. Much like yourself Ive dreamt of getting one and lets just say ive been lucky. She isnt for sale and doubtful she ever will be.....stunning
19. Im retiring due to poor health, the old ticker is just not up to it despite only being 41! Genetic glitches are a right pain. I'm holding back a very nice Dingwall Z3 to keep me happy at home, just need to get rid of the rig too. Happy days eh?? Lol
20. Feeling flush? Buy the 2 Warwicks and i'll throw in an immaculate Mono M80 Dual bass case! Thats a bonus i'd say
