1. well, it's at home now - girlfren went and picked it (and 3 sets of new strings) up from the post office this morning... roll on 5.30 !!!!
2.
Old rockers never die, they just smell funny from all the embalming fluid they've consumed.
i thought they just lived forever on the guest list... back on topic - nice looking bass...except for the inlays
3. i might give the 18v trick a go, although i can see it ending up using thr 9v supply for my pedalboard if it's a keeper. delivery was attempted today - hopefully it'll be available for collection tomoz morning.
4. i had this up in the for sale section a while back in this thread but i decided to try another valve or two before selling it on but still it's not quite what i want. and as i've made a few other purchases recently i need to sell some stuffs !! so - up for sale for £55 all-in delivery included. i'd offer it for less but this is heavy pedal. i left the fender 12ax7wa valve in there cos i thought that gave the best sound.
5. we just hope we get the amp fixed for the end of the month for the time in the recording studio
6. just musing on my guitarist friend's problem... he bought a laney valve amp from GAK a couple on months ago and now it's packed up. he's going to talk to GAK tomoz and try and get it repaired. the amp's had only very light use, so chances are it's a problem with the amp rather than way it's been treated. now, this leaves him ampless... has anyone ever manged to get a replacement amp out of a company in this kind of situation ? i'm sure there's no legal requirement for the company to help in this way, but if it were a car in for repair, you might get a courtesy car. any thoughts ?
7. you could also try www.pedalmods.com - i'm very happy with the work they did on my cs3
8. thought it was about time i bit the bullet and splashed the cash to see if all the fuss is justified. can't wait to be honest

18. ok - just an update on the faulty steel leather. the nice people at creative tools have tested my steel leather and have agreed to replace it as it was passing current through to the output, so they're going to replace it. i also spoke to them about my micro q-tron which the steel leather damaged and ehx have said they'll replace that as well. BUT...here's the rub. EHX say that that steel leather can't be run off the same power supply as other pedals...it needs its own psu or has to be run off batteries. WTF ? nowhere in the instructions does it say this, and i'm going to be contacting ehx to tell them i think if that's the case then they should say so explicitly in the instructions. so, if you're planning on getting a steel leather, bear this in mind.
19. hey BBN ! i'm still on for having a try of that laney on thursday...PM me !
