2.
I find that low power bass amps are a waste of money, you NEED at least a hundred watts to reproduce the low end! There might be amps that defy this rule, but this is what I've experienced.
um...it is just a practise amp !!

    Fried pedals

maybe one of the pedals crapped out and blew the other ?
  4.
well its out, and imo overpriced, anyone gunna take the plunge n buy one?? i cant see me ever spending £125 on it, i was hoping it would be cheaper than the blowtorch, but alas. found it for £109 at one place, and that link above is at £85, but both are out of stock, and no doubt when they are back in they will mark their prices up with the likes of dv and a few others opinions?
i'd be interested to hear it, but i'm not as interested as i was...between my fulltone bass driver and the mxr di+ (thanks again bmk), i'm quite happy. if i were interested i'd certainly be waiting a bit for the prices to come down...
  5. the question is...does it come with a kettle lead ?
  6.
that english muffin sound sample has put me right off it, seems to totally suck tone away when engaged?? or are my pc speakers being particulary sh*te today
it sounds ok to me...
  7. how much would a mia p-bass, a badass II and some sd pickups cost you ? less than that surely. and you'd not need to read his migraine-inducing ad either.

    HaHaHa

    i hear it's a b@stard to play - neck's like a log !
  9.
odb-3 is great choice, can be used as a clean boost, as well as a low gain natural overdrive, and a high gain noise fest. as long as your careful and know how to use the eq/blend effectivly, its a great pedal
you should just put that in your sig bmk...save yourself some typing
  10. i think the english muff'n is a different beast to the big muff family, which tend to go straight for the jugular...and are fuzz pedals rather than overdrives... i'd be quite tempted by the english muff'n (from what i've heard and read) if i hadn't vowed to stop buying pedals
  11.
Sweet rig. How much does the 212 weigh?
i've not actually weighed it, but the seller reckoned about 60lb, which seems right compared with my 4x10. either way it's a good size and weight...for a little chap like me !
  12. i'd be interested in replies to this too...i quite fancy one of the zoom recorders, for doing practises and also just for making field recordings for sampling later
  13.
When you bear in mind that he'd been playing bass for about a month, and struggled to play Smoke On The Water, I thought that it was a rather strange investment, rather than a cheaper bass.
well, it would keep its resale value better than a cheaper one i suppose...
  14. well, maplins have proved to be no use trying to source the replacement caps for the power supply.... i'm actually wondering if it's worthwhile just biting the bullet and getting it serviced professionally...it's possible i may be selling it soon anyway... oh, and in pulling the board for the power supply just i noticed that there's more etching humour on the bottom of the pcb. right in the middle it says 'make it so number one' ahhh....the late 90's eh ?
  15.
I think flat screen monitors are buzz free, so a must for the studio.
plus the one ! and the lack of cathode rays means you don't have to wear a tin-foil hat any more !!!
  16.
Nothing worse than noisy fans, try a class D power amp, they don't have them, they're also a lot lighter.
lighter than my soundtech ? it only wieghs 16lbs !!! i reckon i'll just keep my eyes open for a cheap, low-power, convection-cooled amp.
  17.
Any other pedal that can give the sound that grit I'm looking for?
suggestions (from my 'umble experience)... digitech bad monkey - a low-gain overdrive that has plenty of level boosting ability. mxr bass di+ - two channel overdrive - you can use the clean boost to overdrive the front end of your amp, and also a dedicated distorion channel that you could add some dirt with and also pump up the volume with to hit your valves harder. line booster pedals (mxr micro amp, cae line booster, ehx linear booster) - will add more grind, but will also raise your volume somewhat..as i said it depends how much overdrive you need really. ive found that in the parts of sone where i need more overdrive a bit of volume boost works well anyway, but best to try if you can.
  18. god, you're evil... i'm sooooo tempted.
  19.
i sold mine for 120
for what i actually use mine for (wierd noises) i'm thinking of flogging it and buying a mega-cheap one. i do wonder what the fuss about them is tho...mine sounds fairly ropey.. guitarists eh ?
  20.
that delay pedal is superb, i so regret selling mine, seems an age ago now lovely board
thank you those delays go for silly prices these days...
  21.
It is a bit tatty, there are screws missing and as the receipt says it doesn't have a tremolo, so that's probably a fair price
it's a shame it didn't come with ELO either
  22.
If I was still in my last band and playing guitar I would have already hit the "Buy It Now" for the Gundam Axe guitar.
that's cool...but wtf can't i ever see the auctiva pics ??
  23. well, i think i'm sorted with my main board - one of the guitarists today said i had the best sound i've had ever...so it must have been good for him to comment !! i bunged some of the other pedals i don't use into my smaller board, just to keep them tidy and for my peter hook impressions so here they are: main board at the top, satellite board at the bottom god, that carpet's horrid
  24. i can't see any pictures anyway !
  25. shouldn't we be down the boozer getting trolleyed then ? happy birthday !!!
