With regret i have had to back out of a trade deal for this bass. However, this was purley based on my inability to play bass to the standard required! This is a gorgeous looking instrument and i cant imagine you will find this kind of quality in a bass built by anyone for anything like this price! If it had 5 strings it would be mine, although i do not think the owner would part with it either.... BUMP

Okay, so iv spent more time with it now. It works better with passive basses than active, although I would say it was more usable with actives than most. With sub modes on you can get some good gated fuzz tones without losing low end, however because the pedal is so loud you find yourself turning the volume right down, so it sounds like you do lose low end. I personally wouldn't use this pedal without a blend but I can imagine some would be fine with it, particularly in a synth setup. It isn't for me so I'm selling it, but I reckon I would have kept it had it had a blend, as I prefer the gated fuzz to the Iron Ether Oxide.

No more Wood & Tronics basses on this forum, surely there must be!
Sorry Kev, I missed it - apologies These are the new 'budget' line but having owned an OLP, these are a million times better in terms of build, playability and tone. In terms of closeness to a genuine 'Ray, I played on the same bill with the same amp as a guy with a 90s model and it was damn close, that's for sure.
Sorry about my post, looks really rude when i read it back! But interesting answer, looks good and it looks like a lot of bass for the money!

Took delivery of this recently but it isn't for me, a bit too much for me to handle! New version of the fuzz factory with a sub switch to add lows so it is usable for bass this time! Crazy pedal, YouTube vids will sort you out if you aren't familiar. This works with both passive and active modes of my bass, sub switch thickens the fuzz out but the pedal does have a very pronounced treble/high mid character so it is LOUD - you'll certainly get noticed! It's is brand new, stomped on a couple of times in socks. £130 shipped in UK.

Definitely for sale, it just isn't me. Picture of the bass without the ramp and the headstock: It really is a great bass and a real bargain considering this is as close to brand new and unplaced as you can get. EDIT: Potential new bass purchase means a cash sale for this would now be preferable, £1800 is a great price and a full blown custom order would costs close to double this.

I took the plunge and bought one, together with a Wren & Cuff Box of War (which is fantastic, but not for this thread!) First impressions arn't too great. I don't think it loses low end as much as it has very prominent treble/high mids in most settings so reduction in volume in turn makes it appear to lose bottom. Seems to work with my bass in Active mode, allbeit with more string noise. I don't think its a keeper for me from first impressions, not without a blend pedal anyway. Sub switch seems subtle....

All pm's replied to. I'm not really interested in another Warwick as I do still fancy a change. No real preference over 4 or 5 strings but 6 is a little too far. Also very keen on at least a passive option in the electronics. I am leaning towards moving this on now so offers now seriously considered...

Excellent instrument with the following specs: Wood & Tronics Zoid 5 String 33 inch scale Tuned EADGC [100,80,60,40,25 Fodera Strings] 17.5 mm Spacing at Bridge American Black Walnut Body American Holly Top with matching headstock Alder tone block with figured poplar top 3 piece ash neck ebony fingerboard brass nut ebon Ramp ebony knobs & pick up covers Bassculture pick ups John East SP2 preamp Vol, Bal, Bass, Mids, Treble, Passive/Active, tone knob The bass is a fantastic instrument in almost brand new condition, practically unplayed as they guy i bought it from had to sell due to injury shortly after he took delivery. Lowest action i have ever seen on a bass possible; the strings lower until they rest on all frets pretty much all at once, can't imagine a bass with lower action. The ramp is currently off and is designed to be held on with double sided tape, so can easily be taken off if you don't fancy a ramp and it will leave no mark whatsoever. The bass has so much tonal character. I hate to use such cliches, however notes really do jump off the fretboard and are almost piano like at times. I haven't heard or played with Bassculture pickups before but they are really nice and look great with the wood covers. The preamp is superb; 3 band eq on top and dip switches inside to control mid frequency/range and trim pots to set the bass and treble frequency. Passive mode is great and the passive tone knob is a great feature. The Holly top is a lovely cream colour in real life and is just lovely. Comes with the factory supplied Warwick Rockcase and truss rod keys, also the original order documentation. Contacted Enrico last week and the bass would cost 3400 new today. The bass is in mint condition and only a year old so it's a great chance to own as close to a custom order from Wood and Tronics as possible. Trades? Interested in Amps/Cabs mainly but would consider basses, minimum trade value of £1800. I will not be able to add cash but will happily take it. Cash sale for [s]£1800[/s] [s]£1730[/s] £1650. I will ship if required but would be much, much more comfortable in jumping on the train and delivering the bass as a train station to keep things safe. No longer in such a hurry to sell this so lets see whats on offer Cheers
