Due to the imminent arrival of an Overwater bass I am selling this lovely bass rig. I will split it if you only want the cab or combo. For full details go to the Eden Bass website where there is loads of information, but in breif. The Metro Combo id the loudest and most powerfull combo on the market, I A/Bd this next to a SWR redhead and the redhead was completely blown away, its 600 watt and capable of running at 8, 4 or even 2ohm. It has a solid state half and the other side is valve so you get best of both worlds and can flip between then with a footswitch. I used to play in a power rock trio round pubs etc and only ever took the metro without any extension cab, its clear and loud. The condition is good, the speakers and cones are perfect, the valve is still the factory fitted one that it came with, I still have the original reciept from bass centre from when I got it. It says 2003 on the back of the cab but I got it new 2005 as per the reciept, it has not been used for 2 years now at a gig just in the house. List price if you could find one £1600.00 yours for only £750.00 215xlt 8 ohm extension, 400watt with two fifteen inch XLT speakers, its big, its heavy, it will vaporise small children that get to close to it. handy roller things on the back so its quite easy to drag along, list price £950.00 yours for only £350. Dont know a great deal about it other than I got it on e bay 18 months ago and have only gigged it once. They have been in my garage all winter and have a few very small mould spots on the flock, I will clean this up before they go will look at trades for a similar sized rig or something interesting £1100 gets you "the rig"

Greetings Bassists, I am selling my beloved Gibson Thunderbird to fund an Overwater. I will give it a couple of days on here then its going on E Bay. Comes with new Gibson case, still has the plastic bit in the lock so you can put your own number in it. Strap locks and Gibson strap included. Black DR strings worth £30.00 This bass has just had a full set up and fret dress costing me £135.00. The set up is low and the neck is very fast. Passive bass with a killer rock tone. The condition is good and even though there are a couple of dings on the underside the front is mint (you try to stand one of these things up) The neck is perfect and true, I never have to make truss ajustments its rock solid for a fine neck. The serial number is 90667730, I think the date is late 90s, but dont honestly know. Would rather it was collected from Blackburn Price I reckon needs to be £750.00

North West Bass Tutor - Are You Interested in Lessons in 2010?
grimbeaver replied to nickcarey's topic in Tutors Available
I have played bass in various bands for the last 20 odd years and have been completely self taught, I have my own style and play mainly by ear and have coasted along using a small array of runs, tricks, and twangs of my own and copying other peoples bass lines. I would hardly ever play my bass at home unless I had to pick out a new song and if I ever did have a practice at home would just play the same old lines and songs that I always played. I have had many compliments on my playing over the years and have always got by as a "bass player" in a whole host of cover bands and a couple of originals but I always knew I was not a good or talented player when comparing myself to other players, I just coasted. I had tried a couple of teachers prior to Nick but never for more than 1 lesson and to be honest I went to Nick initially to get a few extra "tricks" to sound good and perhaps improve my playing a little. After lesson 1 I was hooked. It's 6 months now and I have untangled my playing style and am in the process of changing how I play altogether. I have had some hard lessons and struggled to grasp certain issues but Nick has slowly and patiently worked with me and now the penny is dropping on theory. I have had some inspirational lessons that for me have opened up whole new areas of bass playing. I am enjoying my bass playing more at the moment than at any other time in the last 20 years, my style and playing has improved so much its unbelievable to the point that people and band members comment on it regularly and I am playing in live situations well out of my old comfort zone and introducing new runs and licks of my own making. At the moment I could not go a night without picking up my bass and after 20 odd years thats something. If you are considering bass lessons be it a complete beginner or someone with years of experience I could not recommend Nick more highly. Rob Brooks. -
I only use eden cabs, if you go on the eden web site there is a great forum and you will get some good advice, just my recommendations are as follows I have a 210xst, very hifi, very deep, like a sub woofer allmost, I take that to a small gig on its own, medium gigs IE 150 people in a decent sized pub I add a 210xst, very middy and clear high end, those 2 together are a killer rig for medium venues. I also have a 410xst for big gigs and I put the 210sxt under it, never have I lacked volume or power. I use the WT550 head that runs at 750w and all my cabs are 4ohm as the head will go down to 2ohms load, in hindsight I should have gone for 8ohms cabs. good cabs, the only problem I have found is that if you play a small venue the cabs need more power!! in larger venues they tend to throw the sound out foreward and you need less power?! sounds strange but thats my experience. try the forum its very good. If you were in uk I would invite you round for a cup of tea and a twang so you could hear them

I am selling a mint eden metro combo, its simply the best thing your going to get, I went to the shop to get an swr redhead and looked at the eden next to it, when I played them both together the eden blew the swr away at all levels. £1400 new mine is mint and only £750.00

oh yes indeed, I have a solo to do at the same time as the lead solo (we do the same thing) and I can play it upside down, in the bath, one hand behind my back. but I made a right cock of it once and now every time it comes up I start thinking about it and bingo I cock it up again..... flub phobia indeed

anyone know any really cool bass tricks
grimbeaver replied to grimbeaver's topic in General Discussion
I have a great trick where I go for a walk around, stand on my lead that rips out and walk a few paces wondering what has gone wrong then sheepishly go and plug back in again, cant count the number of times I have done this -
brilliant, dont know what to say really other than brilliant
