Eden Metro Combo 600 watt of mega power !!
grimbeaver replied to grimbeaver's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Hi John, I got the metro from new 2004 from the bass centre, I have the reciept still. The manufacture date on the rear is 2002 so I presume it took a while to get to UK and was sat in the bass centre for a while. I used it for about 18 months in a blues band and also a power rock trio then I went to seperates and have not really used it since apart from in the house for practice. Early this year I took it to the rehursal rooms we use and it was there for a couple of weeks, during this time someone used it and I dont know what they did but both speakers had creases on the cones. I sent it all off to Surrey amps who are the Eden recommended agents in the UK who said I could leave them but the speakers had been stressed or put new ones in, I chose to have new ones fitted at a cost of £342.70 (I have the reciept and the guarantee) The metro is in good condition all round and works perfectly, its 100% original and still has the factory fitted tube in. I have seen them selling on e bay for around the £750.00 mark and this is as low as I can go as I have just spent £342.00 so its like getting £400 for it, if you know what I mean. You are more than welcome to come over and have a play around I have room and can play at any volumes (live in an old farm house) and have a Gibson bass for you to test it with They are a cracking piece of kit and the range of tones you can get are great. -

We design and voice each enclosure to enhance certain traits just as a fine instrument is crafted. After you have spent your time and money finding the perfect bass you will want an amplifier and speaker system capable of doing it justice. Eden is the only bass guitar amplifier company that actually hand builds our own speaker and tweeters. This allows us to control the sound and production quality of our own products very carefully, ensuring that you get the very best bass guitar products possible. We use AA furniture grade plywood, all Dado and Rabbet construction with the massive internal bracing required to really produce the low bass note properly. Borrowing basses off folk just to try them
grimbeaver replied to far0n's topic in General Discussion
If you want to borrow the T bird I am sure we can sort something out
That made me smile (and I need all the smile I can get at the moment!). The '75 really is very nice, I hadn't ever really put it up for sale and will probably hang on to it for a while. In fact one of the nice things about loaning out basses is that when they come back home it feels like you're getting something new again
-

I got a jaydee, warwick$$, and a gibson Tbird if anyone near Blackburn wants to have a swap for a week or 2 -
Go for an Eden WT550, its tiny I put mine in a little shoulder bag, try a XLT2x10 that will give you 500watt of sub bass and a xst 2x10 350w of upper sound, thats a 750w amp at 2 ohm and 2 cabs that will give you 850watt if they are both 4ohm. I play this set up with 2 marshal half stacks and a loud drummer and it blows them away. I have also been able to fit the lot in a mini and am glad I got rid of my TE gear. I used to lug a AH600smx head and 2 massive cabs about, now I can be just as loud with great tone as well. keep your eye open on e bay for second hands or import from usa for best bargains, new in UK its going to cost you 2k, if you look round or import you can half that easy. If your ever over this way come and have a noodle on my rig Rob

Morning, can anyone tell me please what the rough distance they have the pickups spaced from the strings on a gibson thunderbird? I know its subjective and differs etc, but just as a rough guide if anyones got one set up bang on that measurement would help me make a start, also do you find that the pickups need to be nearer to the G string than the E to stop a bit of boom or do you have them horizontal. many thanks Rob

I do that all the time and can play most things by ear in a one, its just its like learning rhythm stick or something, it has loads of complicated runs all over it and it will take me hours to sit and pen it out -
I run a Eden WT550 and always run it at 2ohm, never had a problem, its small and light, fits in a little shoulder bag, gives 750w of power, tone to die for and a good semi parametric EQ, cant go wrong with it.
